  What do you mean bad word Carla? Do they now frown upon the use of the term "Rank and File"? As far as I know that used to be an accepted term for the average publisher. Interesting.

  mentioning this as it may be helpful in anti-witnessing.

  Nice chart, charts like these that show the cult like comparisons are very helpful in showing people in the Watchtower Organization just how flawed their system truly is. It nicely exposes the psychological tactics and authoritarian nature of their group.

  Where in Watchtower literature are beards frowned upon?

  is there anyone here who can direct me to a publication that specifically discourages witnesses from having beards?

  one witness i am debating claims it is not frowned on.

  Just take a look at some of the older publications where they even go as far as taking the beard off of Jesus and you will know the overall mindset of the Witness Organization. Just a couple weeks ago I was thumbing through some as I was moving and not sure if I wanted to take them along or not. "From Paradise lost to Paradise Regained", essentially aimed at children but it has illustrations of a beardless Jesus. I am pretty certain beards are still frowned upon causing loss or restriction of priveledges, but probably would not result in ones ex-communication.

  The people who want to stop criticism of the president are the ones who have sold democracy down the river.

  About the only true democracy left is the ability for enough of the public to make enough noise that things get done.

  It's unbelievable that after all that Bush has done and caused that he is not only still in office and hasn't been prosecuted but still has some support! Same for Blair.

  When will people wake up? Are they so lazy or stupid that they just don't care? "Hey, so what if people get killed as long as I can drive my care and stuff burgers in my fat face."

  Thank you Simon for thoese comments. I've moved and so havn't had net for a couple weeks but I came back to read this thread with interest. I agree wholeheartedly with your comments.

  The very problem I see on this thread with thoese who try to say were anti-American and anti-Bush is they have exchanged democracy for a look alike shell. They are the ones trying to suppress freedom of speech and promoting a blind and ignororant following even in the face of the American governments failure. This is playing out much the same as the Star Wars saga in which people give blind loyalty to the Empire believing it is a democratic society. Ones attack us who dare expose the hypocrisy of this government and label us as anti-American when in actuality we are fighting for the very values they first established.

  U/D - I was not referring to foreing leaders when I stated "Bush and all his Cronies" but rather to his circle of power or representitives. You have taken what I said out of context and added a meaning to it that was never their. Typical of thoese who continue to blindly follow their corrupt leadership, demanding that others do also and then you say were the ones serving these political God's.

  How did the Slave Class' feed one another' in Russells time?

  the current teaching among jehovahs witnesses is that since pentecost of 33c.e., jehovah has had a faithfull and discreet slave class on earth at any given time who feeds one another spiritual food.

  they have not deviated from this teaching.......yet nowhere will you find out where charles taze russell recieved a feeding from any existing slace class from his time.. search all you want...and you will never find a 'slave class' who russell recieved his food from.

  all articles point to russell as the single slave since no others were viewed as a slave of his time.....rather that truths were dispensed by him although some of his ideas originated with others....though these "others" were never recognised as a "slave class"..rather some men who never really had it right.. watchtower 1922 september 15 p.279 .

  Its because its very hard to get past the blockades that a indoctrinated person throws up. I have had numerous discussions with witnesses on the lack of evidence for an organization and even though they lack any biblical backing they still maintain that they can not be wrong. It's difficult to get past this mindset because they have a feeling of eliteness and that they have all the answers. Even when presented with problems in their belief system or outright false statements they go into auto-pilot, which usually equates to circular reasoning. etc. "We can't be wrong because it's God's organization. If it's God's organization we can't be wrong."

  Thats what I find difficult to overcome, because even when presented with all the evidence their indoctrination is a huge obstacle to overcome and I believe they have to want help to be helped. Some are perfectly happy being misled and do not want help, others are further strengthened in their resolve to serve the watchtower by such exposing information, actually leading to the opposite desired effect. I affirmatively believe that it is a psychological battle due to the power of indoctrination, yet so few research the psychological effects of high control groups but rather soley focus on doctrine.

  New Releases.. losing pzazz??

  has anyone else noticed that in recent years the new releases have less 'chunky' content?

  a book of maps, a children's book about jesus (?

  ), and this year's book which summarises main witness teachings (from what i gathered anyway, i haven't seen it yet).. the language is simpler, the message trimmed up nicely.. i wonder why.

  I really think though that alot of it is to do with their much more rapid progress in the third world markets. Lets face it expansion in the modernized countries is at a standstill or an actual decline. The uneducated and developing countries is where the numbers are at now for the Watchtower society. Their focus is on thoese markets and these people are not going to be easily influenced or interested by long winded speculations that the Society use to thrive on for growth. Their interest is in solutions to their current dilemas and so the information is more tailored in that direction.
  

  
  
  Also I think the days of people being overly excited and enthralled by confusing, systematic, dogmatic cronology and wild speculation is over. They have had their fingers snapped too many times by false phrophetic time declarations and false scriptural presumptions. They have become much more cautious and careful in what they publish, much due I expect to the increased publicity of their miscalculations and outright lies by the internet.
  

  
  
  I also think Fred Franz was the last one who actually had any autonomy in what they wrote and theorized. No one on the governing body or writing committees has any balls any more, or will stick their neck out to publicize their speculated phrophecy's or interpretations.

  Book Study Inventory House Cleaning

  i remember often times the same book would be studied over again at the book study of the jw's and sometimes it would happen within a short period of its original consideration.

  they always gave the reason that their was necessary information for the times and thats why it was being read over again, but i read something last night that really made sence as to why they schedule certain books to be studied again.

  not surprisingly it has little to do with any spiritual concern but rather it is all business, all dollars and cents for this publishing giant called the watchtower society.

This information comes from Ray Franz and his ISOCF book page 533.

  "On occasion, when their has been a large inventory backlog of a certain publication, though that book had earlier been studied by all congregations at the congregational "book study" groups, the headquarters has rescheduled that publication for use, knowing that the number of new persons that had begun associating in the interim would take much if not all of the inventory backlog. The need to clean out that backlog determined how hundreds of thousands of persons would spend numerous hours of study. What their spirtual needs actually indicated as appropriate was not the determining factor."

  So much for caring for the spiritual needs of its followers, again money and inventory backlogs take more precident then people spirituality. It clearly is a business orientated publishing company. Now it all makes sence why they recomend everyone get a new study book each time even though they may still have their original one in good condition. They said it was for our benefit but clearly this is not so, it was so they sell their overstocked inventory, clear out all the extra books and fill the donation boxes with your money.

  Thank you Googlemagoogle for the link to the www.607v587.com site. Its so frustrating to read the societys answers to his letter as they always try to spin the argument and never give direct answers. They are just like typical politicians that hide behind their lies and only tell what they want to be known to others. I can only imagine how frustrated this person must have been to take all that time to write thoese letters with all the qoutes and research, only to have the watchtower try to use circular reasoning and spin some non related nonsence his way.
