No. Wouldn't really want to be part of a regurgatated religion. Even if they put on a new mask its still the same ugly face underneath, its just been covered up.

this thought has sprung from recent threads and speculation over the new book.
i know many who post here are still active jw's or ones who were df'd, but may have not totally left the belief system.
many have trouble with the methods and policies of the wt concerning dfing, restrictions, blood, local elders etc.

Great commentary Blondie. I especially found interesting the direct link in the hidden but obvious meaning of Jehovah and the fds\wts. The true implication of the word "Jehovah", which to a JW is as you stated the fds\wts, and the added spin on speculation becomes incredibly apparent. Its mind boggling to me how all thoese years I swallowed these articles without picking up on the parallelism they create with themselves and God, and how much is pure speculation rather then factual. Thanks Blondie.

during a dinner conversation with a loyal jw, he mentioned that the society seems to be making stronger statements to jw's.
he mentioned the "keep on the watch" brochure, and how it seemed to be for jw's as well as the public.
he acknowledged the "personal questions" the society were asking us, in the brochure - how pointed and direct they are, even asking you to rank your physical and spiritual activities on a scale of 1 to 10. .
Great post Truth Seeker. I agree with you, I think the organization is cracking down on faders and fringers. Their feeling the noose tighten as the internet exposes them more and more.

my wife has been talking up how much she wanted to attend this weekend's one day assembly in rosenburg.
she made all these big plans, had her hair done, been dropping hints all month that she would like it if i attended with her.
(i had no intention of going and listening to that garbage.).
Ive seen several people like that, who didn't attend meetings but profusely swore up and down that the witnesses had the truth. I think in reality they senced problems with the organization and were more of a walk away believer, but their indoctrinated guilt and fear continues to hold them captive. In fact so bonded to the programming they automatically defend the society as if by instinct, it's views, its authority, and close their mind by thought blocking critical information.
One lady that has completely left the oranization for over 20 years is still in fear and guilt from the indoctrination. She even voiced her disaproval of investigating the society and adamently continued to defend them as the only true religion. Normally she picks fault with the witnesses but it shocked me when I raised critical questions against the society's truthfullness and she quite rudely said she was not interested in JW's. I was just discovering much myself about the watchtower at the time and so it really was a emotional downer for me, it was discouraging because I so wanted to talk about my findings with someone who would understand. Luckily I didn't stay discouraged as I had researched into the psychological effects from post cult related experiences, I realized at the time I was only beginning to recover and I needed to stay strong emotionally or I could risk returning to the JW mentality. Her programming after all thoese years was still strong enough to go into defence mode when presented with critical anyalysis of the watchtower, strong enough that still to this day she continues to be a walk away believer.
Another one I know basically says he is in 100% support of the witnesses and defends them regularily, but yet he holds his own biblical beliefs, some contrary to official wtbts doctrine. I would tend to think he may be another walk away beleiver who has adjusted to his own belief system, yet in talk he diligently defends them. Its amazing how long the effects of the JW mindset last, maybe we never totally shed the JW mindset. Im hoping that overtime the connections that our synapses have hardwired in our brain that have connection to watchtower related thinking will in time, reconect in an alternate thought and spiritual view based on freedom of conscience. I do believe that is why viewing such infromative sites as this one, reading critical literature, and educating oneself as to the psychological effects of involvement, are all essential tools in unweaving the watchtower web.
Great topic, thanks for getting me thinking, its fun to reason on such topics.

as you've heard, the new book "organized to do jehovahs will" was released today.
here is an excerpt that i trust you will "appreciate", in regards to getting involved with the "world".. ' ..a christian might renounce his faith by his actions, such as by becoming part of a secular organization that has objectives contrary to the bible, and hence, is under judgement by jehovah god.
(isa, 2:4) if a person chooses to join those who are disapproved by god, a brief announcement is made to the congregation, stating: "[ name of person] is no longer one of jehovahs' witnesses.
It sure does seem hypocritical given their involvement with the UN themselves. Im sure they would explain it away as "well the UN actually is an org in line with the bibles objective of world peace." But wait isn't the bibles objective of world peace acomplished by God and not a manmade org, arn't mans efforts futile according to the bible. So in essence an announcement should be made from the platform stating "The Watchtower and Bible Tract Society inc. is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses." We all know that announcement is never coming. Just another case of whitewashing their exterior. Very dissapointing and hypocritical.

Another one I think would be that the religion is all based on group think, which essentially is controlled and programmed from the top down. They give a slight but deceiving view that you are now on your way to being governed by your conscience and can be more able to make independant right choices in lifes direction. They also make it apear that they are only thier to encourage your interest in dicovering what the bible is saying to you, and that you should govern your life from it. When truthfully the only thing they want to establish is your dependance on a magazine, which is designed to do all thinking for you and lays down military style conformity according to their doctrine of how you should live life. Then they trully reveal that they really only gave that impression of critical free thought so you would challenge your previous beliefs and life standards, accept thiers unquestioning, and then they quickly try to re-freeze your thinking ability so that you are rendered as just another "yes man". After that its just maintanence on their part through their publications to keep everyones critical thinking skills and independant thought in the deepfreeze mode.

Higher education is definatly something they dont mention. Once your in then they let you know very quickly how they frown upon it and that you should be content at a menial low wage job. They seem to encourage learning and discovery when you first study and then you find out that the only learning they encourage is badly misqouted articles that are based on elementary science at best. When I took further education I quickly found out how they viewed it, but I did not allow them to influence my choices. They even were heavily disapointed when my wife took her nursing education, their were plenty who had to give their opinion of what a waste of time it is. I can't figure out why they would discourage such learning and betterment of ones life, its either jealousy, control, time, or most likely the combination of the tthree. It's dissapointing to see such double standards both in print and action, they seem to encourage learning but then quickly discourage free thought and critical analysis of ones views and decisions, which is my opinion is the basis of ones conscientious decision making process.

That it was a sign up for life plan, and once your baptized or even study with the JW's you are supposed to follow all their rules or else face their punishment. I found them very misleading as to the level of control they would attempt to exert over their members.
