  Why DO they stay?

  there is much discussion of the "dumbness" of those still in and the reason that they stay.. some of the reasons that i have seen are:.

  they want everything in black and white.. they prefer to leave thinking to others.. they are scared to be shunned.. they are just ignorant souls who are on the "opium of the people".

  they dont want others to think bad of them.. while i agree that there is no one single reason and that everyone is different, i feel that the real reason is a much deeper one.

  BugEye, nice post.
  One of the reasons I see is the sense of "community" created by the WTS. For old-timers and those born into the WTS, this is ALL they know as far as socialization goes. As we well know, the BORG has created this "collective" to benefit itself.
  Questions, of course, are routinely met with accusations of apostasy, and then covered up with the NEW LIGHT or "WAIT ON JAH" crap.
  It all goes along with the cult mindset.
  1.Create a "worthy" objective(spiritual ones seem to work best)
  2.Recruit members
  3.Isolate members
  4.Take-over their thinking(after all, you DID come up with the worthy cause)
  5.Depict all other thinking as threatening to the well being of your objective
  6.Develop sanctions for improper thinking and behaviour

  Very effective tactics. No wonder some will never leave. Fear of losing their whole world is an effective deterrent.
  I probably wouldnt have left had I not been DF'd. It would have been way too earth-shattering for at that particular stage of my life.
  Amazing the freedom that came with some smokes, a bit of sex, and refusing to give up a lifelong friend who was DF'd. LoL

  Alternative, you NEVER heard that change????? It was first told to me by an elder, but it is certainly common knowledge here in the U.S.

  Ok people, can someone find a link for Alternative to read it for himself, I need help on this one.

  Perhaps posting a new thread would ensure that he sees it.

  yes, millions of persons have been shocked to learn that things they were taught as being vital for salvation are now considered by their church to be wrong.

  I agree, the "meat on friday" stuff is NOTHING compared to the BLINKING LIGHT of WTS doctrine.
  The WTS has a whole LUMBER YARD in its eye compared to the speck in Catholicism's eye in the case of changing doctrine.

  Now it is "in the name of the Father, the Son, and his spirit-directed (B)Organization.

  2/3 of the Auditorium didn't open the Watchtower.

  hi everybody.. sometime i had read(many years ago) in kingdom ministry an article that said thatas much as two third of the auditorium didn't uses to studie the watchtower when gone to the watchtower study meeting.. do anyone remember this mention?

  perhaps someone realizing something is wrong in the spiritual paradise?.

  if not, what reveals this?i believed some guys were very angry in.

  Well, I cant say I remember that point, but it is a well known fact that 3/4 of the ELDERS, CO's, and DO's dont even READ the magazines!!! So go figure, the R&F really have good examples set for them. YA THINK???

  today, i did a couple of things that i never would've or could've done had i remained a jw.

  first of all, i spent the first half of my day being a promotional model for snapple.

  my job: smiling, looking cute, and handing out free snapple drinks.

  "what are good little dubs doing having favorite songs that are nast and have swearing in them?"

  These songs were ALWAYS their favorites, the just wouldnt be caught at a Prince concert for fear of repercussions.
  Now they have carte blanche to attend. I bet my paycheck that if Prince sang some of those songs, the faihful little j-dubs would know the words better than his PURPLENESS himself.

  Boozy, who finds it hilarious that while j-dubs are grooving to sanitized Prince songs, I get to make exotic dancers gyrate to such songs as SEXY MOTHERF*CKER each weekend.

  Episodes of Craziness

  over the last ten years or so i`ve seen and heard things which when.

  looked at objectively can only be termed `craziness`.however, in some.

  cases these episodes of craziness might be viewed as wonderful testimonies to a strong commitment to jahovah.

  Insanity is prevalent in the WTS "community". Check this story out.
  Brother "X", 3rd generation JW and an elder, was unfairly deleted because he showed the PO from Society publications that he was handling a particular matter in the wrong way. The CO, a crony of the PO, allowed the deletion to stand.
  Brother "X" of course, used proper channels to plead his case to the highest levels of the WTS, but to no avail. ALL CALLS FOR JUSTICE IN THIS MATTER WERE MET WITH STONEWALLING.
  "X" eventually moved to a new congregation, where he explained his situation to the elders there. By now he was pretty fed up, and not attending many meetings. Disillusioned he began to speak ill of the WTS. His wife and one of his sisters(sibling "D"), who had previously backed his calls for justice, now turned their backs on him.
  "D", who was engaged to an elder in "X"'s new congo, resfused to invite him to her wedding reception, but managed to invite his wife, who had walked out on him. She also managed to invite the brothers responsible for his unjust deletion.
  btw...."D"'s fiance, had seen to it that prior to their wedding, that "X" was DISASSOCIATED...."X" had written NO SUCH LETTER, had joined no other religious organization, had not joined the military. His only sin???? Calls for justice from an organization which swears its moral fiber is superior to all mankind!!!
