1996 for me....DF'd then. Hung on "attempting" reinstatement for a year, then decided I couldnt take the BS and lack of human treatment. Never looked back since then.

jw's are a peculiar bunch.
certain things are characteristic of the witnesses.
jw's are known for some weird, unconventional things.
Ah yes, the ole' pioneer shuffle. One step forward, TWO steps back. From the old 90 (or was it 100?) hours a month days.
Actually, I like the dumb "rule" of not doing business with a DF'd person. I once needed some artwork done in a hurry for a project after I was DF'd. (my artist disapeared suddenly) So, I called a J-dub I knew from my former congregation. He refused. I am just glad he didnt own a Micky D's. I would have starved to death. LOL

a hint: one of our apostobabes has already posted the pic once before on this board.
if you know who it is, shhhh, don't tell .
worth a nomination?
Hmmmm...I will be glad to nominate the best hooters on this board, but they MUST be completely BARE, and PLEASE, no pics of de-feathered owls.

anyone heard it?
its called n.e.w.s (north east ...etc) 4 instrumental tracks, each 14 minutes long.
kinda similar to his old madhouse stuff, but with a slightly less jazz feel.
Hmmmm...14 minute instrumental tracks....LOOKS LIKE A JOB FOR SUPER DJ EVIL PHIL......I can remix them w/older dance versions of his raunchy stuff and create a Prince MEGAMIX full of nasty JW proof music.
the sept. 8, 03 awake contains an article about a disaster in ecuador.. on page 14 it says, regarding witness volunteer efforts, "by saturday evening,.
approximately 200 volunteers from local congregations had sealed the windows of 91. witness homes.
many non-witnesses also benefited.
Have you ever seen an article about disaster where the WTS praised NON-WITNESSES who pitched in and helped? I can't remember such an article. Correct me if I am wrong

i have seen comments by jw's who support the notion that there is a group of "special men" like russell that jehovah has selected to write down the "inspired" thoughts through watchtower and awake and other publications.. .
first of all, the bible tells us that god "cannot lie" and every "inspired utterances are true".
that being the case, how can the truth of god originate in lies by a man, russell, who was heavily involved in the occult.?
If the WT Society had to measure itself today according to the specifications on "Identifying the True Religion, as brought out in that publication, they would never succeed in shining as the "True Religion" Is the "Truth Book" no longer true anymore? And how about the Revelation Book with it's info about the UN? And if it is, why did WT become a member as an NGO?
Barbara, these questions are right on target and cut to the heart of the JW belief system. The WTS, if it answered such questions "truthfully", would not meet its OWN standards by a helluva long shot.
Sadly, any rank&file JW who does the same risks not only shattering their own comfortable little fantasy world, but also being stigmatized as "disloyal apostates."
Thanks for the post.

we believe that every red-blooded american can feel a lot less guilty about eating those bovine friends of ours if they just apologize to a cow.. we understand that not everyone has a farm nearby, so we are here to help!.
if you would just read the below apology then sign your name and give a short personal message to the cow, we will print out the list of all the people on the apology and read it to a real live cow!.
it's just that simple!.
this weekend i was feeling creative and since any effort to shake this nagging feeling utterly failed, i decided to do some wt covers.
the result is now before you...they are somewhat simplistic because i did them in paint(tm), i still crave paintshop but haven't been able to get hold of it as of yet..... so here they are:.
feel free to comment or add covers of your own to this thread!
Hahahahaha......the "new Light" one was sooo on target!!!! Nice job on all.

my jw friend told me there was a part on the service meeting last night, about calling on inactive ones.
we knew that was in the km.
she said the po gave it as a talk, and said there were 15 inactive ones in their territory (we are 2 of them), and that elders had been assigned to call on all of them to encourage them.. but..................he said all those in the congregation can and should call on inactive ones regularly, and truly encourage them.
OK, maybe not attending meetings is a yelp in itself. So true. Unfortunately dub elders only take notice when they can pin something on you.
As mentioned, a piss poor excuse for a parent would be, "uhhh, I didnt take a head count 'cause I didnt hear any 'yelping'. "
As much as the WTS likes to use the "children of God" stuff, you'd think there would be a bit more care in watching over such ones.

a recent death in my family triggered my worst fear - as irrational as it may sound - into a very real possibility.. let me explain: as a global culture, we simply accept that when someone dies, those who care about them will want to gather and offer a meaningful tribute to the person and those who survive them.
with regard to my recently deceased family member - her own children decided against holding a memorial service for her surviving family, which included two children and their respective spouses, eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
yes, we are spread out over 2000 miles.
My worst fear would have to be growing old alone. I'd like to get married again and have a kidlet or 2, but the companionship is what I desire most.
