Is shunning getting more intense - visited non-jw relative at jw compound
by Madame Quixote inmy jw family, with whom i no longer attempt any sort of contact, lives about 20 miles away and have their own little riverfront "compound" of sorts - several adjoining properties owned almost exclusively by jws, with some rentals to various "interested ones.
" i think the renters usually move away when they become disinterested and none have fully converted to the jws yet, lol!
i guess spending a year or so around my jw family innoculates them with some sort of cult immunity.

Yeah you dont know what to expect hey, when you say gday its cold shoulder time but then you expect an ol fashioned shun o rama and theyre nice as pie. mind games, i just shun them all now including my family, ive got an uncle and auntie that act like my parents so im lucky. My oldies are cool but theres always that 'edgy feeling' you just cant ask any advise cos youll get some regurgitated answer, and you get the feeling they want you to have problems so they can say 'well when you get your life back on track things should go better for you, if you start doing things jehoblahs way, theres no other way, the worlds got nothing, doom dooom blaah blah'

I just got hold of the WTS Aust branch 2005 Financial Report
by jwfacts inas mentioned in another thread, the watchtower bible & tract society of australia is refusing to give me my personal records, though i believe they are supposed to under the aust privacy act.
they claim to not be under the legislation, which exempts businesses with less than 3 million turnover.
anyway, i purchased their financial report that is lodged with asic to find out what the turnover is ($16million).

Bit hard to speculate when you got the report. man, why wouldnt they sponsor a few pioneer petrol dollars, you hear so many stories of pioneers doing it tough and having to rely on Jah to get their next meal, when there is a coupla mil just sitting there... What a blast!
by ozziepost inthis morning was the morning after the night before at the get-together at the apostates' restaurant.. such an animated crowd with instant friendship.. yep, many came with at least one thing in common, a realisation about the trith about "the troof".. and how appropriate we should be just down the road from bethel.

Something significant changed in the WTS in 1984... but what was it???
by Elsewhere inlooking at this chart i can't help but notice that pre-1984 the growth statistics were extremely erratic.
then, all of the sudden in 1984 the growth statistics calmed down and have ever since fallowed a much more stable trend.
it's almost a straight line after 1984.. so what happened?

i love the build up and drop off before and after 1975. it almost falls off the page. it just looks funny. imagine if they printed that graph the questions by young ones and the replys by oldies
