Thanks everyone. I just need to do this for myself. It's been a long time coming, but I finally have the stregnth to do it. A large thanks goes out to all of you who have helped me more than you will ever know by being so supportive. Finding this website has been one of the best things to happen to me.

The kingdom hall where I used to go has the Theocratic Ministry School and Service meetings on Tuesday. I have finally come to grips with my need to exit the Jehovah's Witnesses forever. I told my parents today that I'm leaving the JW religion behind forever. I told my dad because he isn't as emmotional as my mom. He took it well, and said that he knew this day was coming. He also promised not to shun me.

I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I'm glad to be leaving it behind, yet I see the foundation of my youth going to the wayside. I guess that now I really am officially turning the chapter in my life. I have the letter written already, it is short and to the point. I am going to go and hand it in and leave. I don't feel like wasting a stamp. And I just feel a need to go in and leave one last time.

It just seems so strange. I always dreamed of living forever on a paradise, now I realize that was all a false hope. I've been out for two years now, but for some reason tonight just feels different. I know what I have to do. I just need closure. I hope this brings me the emmotional peace and contentment that I have been looking for.

Is the Society's message to JW's getting stronger?

during a dinner conversation with a loyal jw, he mentioned that the society seems to be making stronger statements to jw's.

he mentioned the "keep on the watch" brochure, and how it seemed to be for jw's as well as the public.

he acknowledged the "personal questions" the society were asking us, in the brochure - how pointed and direct they are, even asking you to rank your physical and spiritual activities on a scale of 1 to 10. .

today, i bought one of those nifty shower heads that come off the wall and have pulse/massage type settings.

well, i didn't follow directions and i ended up snapping it right off the pipe....oops.

so, i took it back to the store and said..."i don't know what happened.

So what! The store will get their money back from the company. They just send it back as defective. No big deal. But I'm sure Satan would be proud of your dishonesty.(ha ha)

Welcome Socrates. It is a big mix of people on here. I'm an ex-JW with absolutely no love of their false teachings. You should stick around and talk to some people on here. It's always interesting to hear all viewpoints.
