Hmm... a drunk and a racist.. All he needs to do is molest a child, and blow the CO, and they will appoint him.
I almost spit water all over my desk when I read that.

brett haines, right, and his attorney at his sentencing by judge william mallory.
[courts sentence drunk drivers to aa (alcoholic anonymous) meetings and use the same protocol having a 'court paper' signed by the meeting's chairperson.many drunks will become full fledged aa 12 step followers and will praise the court action that introduced them to the 'program'.it appears this man's sentence is modeled after the same idea.

Doesn't the lawyer look more guilty than the defendant? And two big thumbs up on the black and white stripes.
I would like to get some more information about this case. The article doesn't seem to say whose choice it was to send the man to the Kingdom Hall. If the judge picked, I would like to know why he sent the man to a cult. If the lawyer or the defendant chose then I wonder if the kingdom hall fits the judges definition of a church. The term church is primarily used by Christians and JWs aren't Christians by the mainstream definition.
Another article seems to explain the judges position a little better. http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060118/EDIT01/601180302/1020/EDIT
The judge was trying to derail a phenomenon hate-crimes experts see all the time: Offenders convicted of race-related charges often leave jail even more bigoted - and with a network of organized hate groups to boot.I understand where the judge is coming from, my uncle was a prison warden and used to tell us about all the gang activity and racism that went on in prison. However, I think it would have been better to send the man to secular diversity training instead of telling him to go to church just to avoid the whole church/state issue.
something i got off the myspace.com jw group.
if somebody can tell me the difference between the logic in this post and the logic in an orwellian book, pm me and i'll give you my credit card number.. .
i wanted to mention, to all active jehovah's witnesses, that a brother has called to my attention that he is being harassed by apostates.
Honesty - Watch out. You're about to be bombarded with hateful, venomous emails that are riddled with foul language and threats of violence. I sent out a couple of emails to some JDumbs and I couldn't believe the hate they spewed back at me. Such fine examples of Christians they are.
Why is that the JWs are more concerned about a potential apostate than they are a pedophile? This person http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=2646693 is a registered sex offender, claims to be a JW and is a member of JW myspace groups. Where's the outrage over that? Where are the public warnings? These people seriously need to get their priorities straight.
i am just watching american idol - god simon cowell is so rude - fortunately paula abdul is hot
I am just watching American Idol
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I forgot to set my Tivo. I can't believe I missed the first episode.
i just got this forward from some creationist.
it pissed me off so much i want to curl up and die.
i feel so alone.
I am a Christian that believes God has used evolution to create this world. I do not understand why more Christians find Christianity and evolution difficult to bridge. It doesn't seem that difficult.
Same here. I don't see anything wrong or unscriptual about evolution. I think the fear of evolution just stems from ignorance.
GBL, don't let some stupid email ruin your day. There are people out there who love those sappy little stories and think that everyone else loves them too. I doubt it was a personal attack. When I get garbage like that I just delete it. If one person is constantly sending you stuff like that, just ask them not to do it anymore. Tell them you already have too much in your inbox.
I hate forwarded emails and chain letters.
yesterday (monday) i was off school and work, and i told my mother i would go out in service.
so monday morning i got up, got dressed, drove to the hall, and there was no one there.
i fell asleep in my car while i waited, woke up to wave at a brother, then fell back asleep, and then woke up, looked around and left.
Then, with a smug look on her face, she demanded to know how I planned to get where I needed to go. I told I'd find a way. So I picked up my phone, and called a good friend of mine from school. I put him on speaker phone, and my mother listened in horror as he told it was NO PROBLEM.She was shocked, that someone who wasn't linked to me through the Society would dare help me.
I know this is just a rant, as I'm pretty pissed, but It was a lesson to my mother, that I have a life outside the borg, and that I can survive.
Good for you! I wish when I was 17 that I had an ounce of the self-confidence and resourcefulness that you have.
My mother was a lot like that too. Screaming and yelling for no reason. Punishing me for things I couldn't control. Living with her was pure hell. My mother is bi-polar, sounds like your mom might be too.
Hang in there, it won't be much longer. ((((((Richie)))))))
i have heard of this through pms.
to each their own and i can understand the fear-factor - we are only human.
what can they do to ya?
I used to be afraid, that's why I lurked forever before posting. Now I just don't give a crap.
i was going about my daily routine of surfing around myspace and i come across this guy's profile.
http://www.myspace.com/thorubeo .
check out track number 3. it's funny, when i was a kid, this was my favorite of all the kingdom melodies.
That's hilarious yet strangely disturbing at the same time.
What's with the naked chick next to the songs? I wonder if this guy is really a JW?

just thought i 'd mention it here first so that when they do start doing podcasts one we can say they nicked the idea from an apostate site and secondly i can sue them for nicking my idea :).
<kerching kerching>
I can't for the life of me understand why the WT doesn't already do something like this.
My church has all the pastor's sermons in mp3, video and podcast available for free on the internet. You can watch all the services live via streaming video. You can even download study notes to go along with the sermon. All of this was done by volunteer members of the church.
