Like the apostles of Jesus that did not understand all of Jesus words until it was time for it to be revealed. The same happens in this modern days.

No it isn't the same. The apostles might have misunderstood some of the things Jesus told them but they did not require all Christian believers to believe as they said or be disfellowshipped. They did not make bold declarations in God's name (phophesy) which then did not come true.

"the Creator’s promise of a peaceful and secure new world before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away."

You will not find the Creator promising any such thing in the bible. This was a Watchtower prophesy.

All of the blaming human error, and saying the apostles did the same thing, will not erase that.

You know the scripture in Deuteronomy about what we should do if a prophet says something in the name of God and it does not come true.

Jehovah did not lie. He allows humans the priviledge of investigating his Word to find the truth. Obviously the scripture in Matthew was misunderstood for many years. Jehovah reveals information in its due time. After another careful examination of the scripture, this was clarified.

You are right, God did not lie, the Watchtower leaders did.

There's that clarified again. It doesn't work, they prophesied falsly.

Also, they made a prophesy in God's name, that makes them false prophets. I have never seen anywhere in the bible, where a false prophet could later become a true prophet. Once a false phophet, always a false prophet.

The organization uses these dates because that's when the information was clarified as to the identity of the "little flock" and the "other sheep".

That is a very bold statement, especially since not one date the WT has ever set has come true.

Almost every bible scholar agrees that the other sheep Jesus spoke of, meant the gentiles, not some earthly class dreamed up by Rutherford.

Just reading the bible, without the indoctrination of the Watchtower literature, will show you that He was speaking of the gentiles who would soon be welcomed into the Christian family.

I read it about 11 years ago. Like you, I couldn't stop reading it, I would put it down for a half hour then start reading again. After that I couldn't wait for his second book. I read everything exposing the WT I could find. It really helped me OUT.

given that your wts has frequently warned its members to stay away from the internet, and that bad association spoils useful habits, why is it that you persist in posting on this site, which is quite obviously populated by those that are disfelloshipped, disassociated, or, at the very least, spiritually weak?

if you lived near one of the more vocal posters would you willingly be seen by your body of elders having a conversation with them?

or, is it the ease of anonymity that allows you to be such a hypocrite and flaunt the rules of the organisation you pathetically claim to follow?

If you decided to try a church, which one would you try?and why?

i have been thinking of doing something i have wanted to for along time, just to see, that is go to a church.

i guess i am a little afraid , or nervous , more than anything, but i feel i ready to venture out there and see what it is about,,,,,,,,,,,lol, i might not stay , i just want to try it.. i just want to give it a chance and right now i have no reason why i shouldnt if i go in with my eyes open.

i dont know what religion to start with,,,,,,,,, i figure this may be a journey on finding what feels right to me, or it could end up i stay home and do my own worship , who knows.. i know there are many christains on this board and i would be interested in hearing why you choose the faith you did, if it is methodist, catholic, baptist, or other mainstream ones.. i am also interested in other forms of religion some have choosen, and why?

If you believe the bible is God's word then you are limited in what church/churches you will want to attend. Many of the churches mentioned here do not accept the bible as God's word.

After leaving the WT org. I attended Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, Church of the Brethren, and probably a few that I do not remember right now. I also attended a Catholic church with my neighbor. My neighbor was not happy that I brought a bible and suggested I leave it in the car. Catholics for the most part are ignorant of the scriptures.

I believe the Baptists were the ones who held much stronger to the scriptures as "the" word of God, but the others were also very strong in bible belief.

I enjoyed the Pentecostals most because they use music more. Their worship services usually have very spirited singing and praising God. I have heard that some Baptist churches have music similar to the Pentecostals but I have not attended one like that yet.

If you are a bible believer it is not so important which church you attend as long as they accept the bible as the word of God, fully. After all as a Christian we give our lives to our Lord Jesus, not to a church. I have also decided not to "join" any church, other than "the church", the family of God.

If any church tried to tell me I must believe their way, other than the basic beliefs in Jesus Christ Himself, I would not go back to that church. As Christians we are free. We owe our allegiance only to our God.
