Awake Ignores Own Flood Date - Gets Caught

a recent awake article was about the magnificence of niagra falls and how it straddles the canadian and u.s. borders.

in the february 22nd issue of the awake in "from the readers" at the back, one of the readers complained, "you (the awake) said that the erosion of the river gorge has taken place over the past 12,000 years.

this would not tie in with the bible's account of a global deluge.".

When I started school, 1944, I started learning about dinosaurs, when I came home talking about them, I was told that they never existed, that the scientists made it up.

Also, when I was very small, I was told that the people building the tower of babel, built it so high, that they could hear the angels singing. I have never met anyone who had heard that before, anyone here ever heard of that?

my handle: mindchild comes from computer scientist and futurist dr. hans moravec: who wrote the book, the future of robot and human intelligence which is a book about when we will be able to construct machines capable of human intelligence and raises the possibility of uploading ourselves (every thought we ever had) into an android body much superior to the human ones we have now.

i entertain the hope that not only will i live long enough to see this happen, i will transfer myself (the complete essence of what is me) into a body of my own choosing and become immortal if i so choose.

I don’t know what mine means. I wanted a screen name and could not think of one, so I got an idea. I rented a monkey and sat it in front of a typewriter. After a very long time the monkey typed out the entire bible, Genesis through Revelation. The monkey looked at me and then typed B O R G F R E E. I shouted EUREKA, but used Borgfree instead.

I would not in any way do any violence to a JW or damage their property. I want to be very clear on that.

If you look at the other side of the story, how many on this board do you think would be alive today if the JWs were permitted, or could get by with stoning? Most of us would get stoned! (no joke intended)

I have demonstrated at New York and a variety of other places. You might be surprised at the conduct of SOME JWs when they are in the majority.

If your family were being held by terrorists and being brainwashed into becoming one of them, or staying one of them, would you be upset? I use language, literature, protests, and whatever I can to jar the thinking of JWs, at least that is what I hope to do.

Because I am a Christian I believe my family are in grave danger. Danger not only today but for eternity. I believe the Watchtower Society is costing my loved ones their eternal life.

I am angry about that, and do not apologize for that anger. I really don't think you do either.

I agree with your statement that the best revenge is to be better than they are, and I am. Whatever I may say here, or in other writings, I am kind and considerate to every JW. The JWs are not. I am very happy, this year my son and I had our first Christmas celebration together. Many JWs wished they could celebrate, they couldn't.

I could make this post very long, but I will stop now.

Some of you seem to have sympathy for those elders and say that they were intimadated, I think you must not have ever been in a committee meeting with the elders aiming their spiritual cannons at you.

I have no empathy for them. If you have never felt the rath of a body of elders I suggest you try picketing a convention this summer or even try demonstrating at the kingdom hall this memorial.

I would guess by some of the comments here that some would be up in arms if the Watchtower Society lost some or all of their freedoms of religion. Think, did they give you or anyone else freedom of religion anywhere in the world?

I would have loved to see a committee ( that's what it apparently was (3 elders)) have to face what they dish out to helpless Watchtower peons.

I will take my place on the side of all of the ones here congratulating Danni and Darryl. Thanks guys!

like their appointed king, christ jesus, they want to help those who have been 'thrown about.

' (matthew 9:36) and they desire to assist others who have been damaged by the winds of false teaching.

Hi Mister Biggs,

My experiences with elders has not been very good. I have not left the organization with a high opinion of them.

If the elders thought they had something to use against me they seemed to have all of the time in the world, but if I had a problem or if I thought the elders had acted wrongly, they were so busy, they just were worked to death and had no time.

I got in the habit of starting my conversations with them by saying "I know you are very busy, but..."

Most of the elders I had personal contact with seemed to be arrogant, haughty, and usually self-righteous.

I expressed feelings like this on another post, to a former elder:

At least to this point he has not changed my perception of them.

I have not experienced that at any church I have been to. Maybe it is because I have not chosen to join any church. I attend, but haven't joined.

Let me see if I understand what seems to be promoted by some posting here, and a lot of others who think just like them.

Many years ago some evil white Europeans came from a backward continent…..

So the white Europeans crossed an ocean and landed on a continent inhabited by some peaceable, advanced, disease free, war free, all around good-guy people who wouldn’t harm a fly.

These evil white devils set about settling the new continent by bringing in shiploads of other evil white devils who were not able to do any work so they invaded another continent to kidnap some other people* (*for a description of those people, see paragraph above) to do all of their work (and thinking) for them.

Now the kind generous, healthy, prosperous, advanced (more than European) gentle, hard working, wouldn’t hurt a fly, etc., etc. people were constantly under attack by these evil white devils (lets call them EWDs for short) The gentle people, etc., ( lets call them angels for short) were forced to move to smaller and smaller areas of their OWN country (aka world power)

Now those angels were so gentle that they would not even consider fighting back, certainly not if they had to use weapons, as they only had an arsenal of pillows, even though, they had obviously invented nuclear energy centuries earlier.

But, at this point let’s return to the people who were kidnapped from their own beautiful, advanced, (no doubt more than Europe) heavenly, war free, disease free, (they had probably already invented penicillin decades earlier) continent. Those EWDs marched through heaven and took all of the angelic people they chose, to turn them into slaves to do the work of the EWDs.

This history could get very long so lets just imagine the next couple of hundred years, it’s really easy to do.

Now in the year 2002 the descendants of those angels cannot possibly leave all of the wrongs done to their ancestors in the past, oh no, that would not be very angelic. So those descendants have a plan, they will do everything in their power to out populate those EWDs and even demand more and more immigration rights for every other non-EWD possible so that some day the angels will be a majority instead of a minority and then they can create a new heaven just like the one their ancestors were stolen from.

Anyone in favor of hell?
