Hi Kingpawn,
I am not sure, I may know who you are, only by hearing your name in the past. I was in the Richmond, Ind. congregation until about 1985?, then went to New Castle for a short time, then Muncie for a couple of years, then Greenville because my son was here.
I lived in New Paris for about 20 years. Richmond is the congregation you attend when you live in New Paris.
You probably know some of my family, Gardiners? Or someone I was a friend to, Liggett?
I really do not hear from anyone in Greenville who has left the Borg., except Mark L,. there are several here who are not active JWs but I think they consider me apostate and beyond their realm of acceptance.
We had a support group meeting here in Greenville for several years but have not had one for over a year now. We held it monthly and after several years it became more of a gathering of a few for lunch and talk, so, we thought we would stop for a while, then maybe have meetings every three months or something like that. We are considering having one soon.
I was also in the North congregation while I attended here in Greenville. One of the elders you refer to is probably Ron J.? I hear he started attending the Winchester, Ind. congregation and has now been re-appointed elder.
There was some really funny stuff going on in the Greenville congregations, elders disfellowshipped, elders children disfellowshipped, elders doing secret stuff and getting by with it for years before getting caught, then lie about it, etc. Jehovah was sleeping.
Have a good day.

barbara anderson gave her first hand account that there are many names and details of pedophiles' criminal activities inside wts headquarters.
many victims have come forward to say that the very pedophiles who victimized them are out on the streets.
so, what more is needed for the authorities to get a hold of those criminals that the wts is harboring?
I think there may be one or two around the board who are almost as old as I am and can remember when we had demonstrations on the service meeting about what to do "when" the persecution started.
One of the things pointed out was to destroy all files, so that the authorities could not find the "brothers" etc.
I have thought for a long time that should anybody get to the point of seeking access to the WT files, there would be no files to access.

i am a "newbie" that has been "lurking" and commenting on a couple of posts over the last six months.
i was somewhat intimidated by some of the comments on the board so i didn't feel comfortable in introducing myself.
since simon seems to be dealing with some of the more "aggressive" posters i felt the time had come to introduce myself.
I just wanted to add an amen to everything Dawn said. Especially number (3) I needed to prove to myself that the WT organization was indeed false, and why they were false. Once I did that I no longer had the periodic doubts that maybe, just maybe they were right. As Dawn said it is good to be FREE.

Hi Kingpawn,
I should know you, or you may know me. I am a little infamous around here. I left in the summer of 1992. You will find my name etc. in the profile.
Glad someone else from the great metropolitan city of Greenville is posting.

Hi Patricia and welcome,
I lived a life similar to what you describe in your opening post. I was born into a family of JWs in 1938, I was baptised at age 11 and really believed the teachings of the Orginazation, most of my life. I can feel a book sized post in the making because I have experienced so much of what you talk about, but, I will not make this post that long. I will give my personal experience leaving the WT, in the hopes of making my post more brief.
When I left the WT, I still thought, they were the only possible true organization, all the rest were of course, babylon the great. I knew something was very wrong in the organization and thought Jehovah would correct it in time, but I could not stand to be a part of it any longer. (too long here to give the reasons) I intended to just live my life the best I could and have nothing to do with "religion"
Because of some wonderful people, ex-jws, I attended an ex-jw conference, then went to a bigger ex-jw convention in Pennsylvania where I heard some very good talks, actual bible based talks, that changed everything for me. I did something I would have NEVER thought I would do in my life. I went to the alter and gave my life to our Lord and Savior, Jesus.
The Brother who encouraged me to give my life to our Lord was Eric Grieshaber, he told me at the time "your life will never be the same" he was absolutely right. At another ex-jw convention I was listening to a baptism talk given by Paul Blizard, I thought at that time I would not need to be re-baptised but, (for those of you who have heard Paul speak, you will understand) I changed my mind and was baptised, this time in the Name of The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
I have been very happy since taking those steps. There have been many troubles and problems of course, but my hope and faith is in our Savior, and I am happy to leave everything in His hands. Most of my family are still in the Borg of course, but I was sooo blessed and happy a little over a year ago when my son left the WT and also gave his life to our Lord.
I want to include what is known as the "sinners prayer" here. If you should feel the need, or if you are being drawn to the Lord, you may want to pray something like this. I have clipped it from the newspaper, it is only a guideline, you can use what words you choose to use.
____________________________________________________________________________
God's Plan of Salvation
1. Tell God that you realize you are a sinner, separated from Him because of your sin.
2. Tell God that you realize there is nothing you can do to earn your own salvation.
3. Tell God that you believe Jesus Christ died on the cross and shed His blood to pay the penalty for your sin.
4. Ask God to cleanse you from sin, because you accept His offer of salvation through Jesus Christ, and tell Him that you want Him to take control of your life.
When you pray this prayer of repentance and acceptance of Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, God will make you His child and the Holy Spirit will come to dwell within you.
__________________________________________________________________
That is something like the prayer I said when I gave my life to our Lord. I, like you, had a feeling I was close to Jehovah from the time I was a child. I have felt much closer to our God since taking the steps I mentioned above. I really fell the presence of our God in my life.
I hope my experience my be some help to you Patricia. I wish you all the best.

so how small does your "pee pee" have to be to stoop to bashing america on a jw support board?.
feeling rather put upon for america's sake, living in new york city, feeling like bashing in the brains of anyone who says that americans going about their daily routines "brought this (9/11) upon themselves".
i will always remember the day i looked out my window at work and saw over 3,000 people dying..
I do not think our government is without flaws, but I guess I agree with the old saying "Our government is the worst possible on the earth, except for all of the others.

cellomould,
To me it is a derogatory word. There have been quite a few Socialist governments around the world. I think they all have proven to be rotten governments. Just like Communism, Socialist governments are not what the true definition of the word would indicate.
Socialists tend to also be "liberal" The word liberal is good, and the practice of being liberal is good, but, the "liberals" who are also mostly Socialists are not good, they choose to be liberal with everyone elses money, property etc. not liberal with their own money. etc. (like robinhood they choose to take from some and give to others, as they choose. Maybe a better name for liberals would be Hoods)
This country was built by individualists. Strong people who could earn their own way and only wanted "government" to stay out of their way.
That's how I see it.

Another find example of a Socialist American.
