as i'm having some serious differences with some friends about the born again attitude i would like to get some information on their origins, practices and what they actually believe help me somone please .

The Born Again Christians believe everyone else is going to die.

I really do not understand why some think that if you choose not to accept the gift of life from God, that it is somehow unfair and a horrible atrocity. Every human that has ever lived has died, as far as anyone knows.

The gift of life is offered free to everyone, Christ paid for that gift. If we choose to say, as some have, that if there is a God, He is vicious and they want nothing to do with Him, that is their choice, so, if they spend eternity separated from Him how is that unfair or unjust?

The bible only takes us to a certain point into the future, it does not give us answers to everything that the future has in store. For example, Christians believe, as the bible states, that we will be kings and priests. If every living human will be in heaven, who would we be kings and priests to?

There are different theories about who will be on this earth or another earth and I do not know anyone who knows that answer for sure.

I think we have seen the wonderful works of our God for our entire lives, creation, the universe, etc. why cannot we just trust in the God, who is love, to be just and fair?

I consider myself a born again Christian. To me, salvation depends on one thing, accepting the free gift from our Lord and giving our lives to Him. All other matters are not salvation issues.

I am like Little Toe on the hell fire subject, I do not know whether it is literal or not, but I do believe that whatever it is, it is an eternal separation from God, and that cannot be good.

I think that church attendance is not a salvation issue. As the bible says, the purpose is to build one another up, to do fine works, and to encourage each other. So, church attendance is for our benefit.

If I choose to attend a church then I want to contribute to the expenses of the church, building expenses, ministry expenses, charities, etc., etc. If I choose not to contribute, that is my business.

There is much freedom in being a Christian. I will never let any group or individual enslave me again, with the exception of our Lord of course. My salvation and my worship is between my Lord and me, everything else is extra.

Why are only the Republicans followed by their party designations?

I do not know if there is any truth to this story or not, but it is obvious the article is biased.

For example, the word "rave" was removed from the version of the bill attached to the AMBER Alert. Eliminating such blatant discrimination is a victory for our continued freedom of speech.

Maybe I am just too far into a previous generation, but, where on earth is any discrimination shown in this bill, even if it is real?

After suffering a hugh blow to his military forces and equipment during the last gulf war, Saddam left everything as is, he did not bother to replace his troops and/or equipment?

where is this greatly expanded military now?

Have you been watching the news programs. How about all of the reports about the "well trained, "fierce fighting" Republican Guard with several divisions around Baghdad, and in Basrah and other cities?

the al samud missiles were not imported and it is very questionable whether they violate the agreement in the first place

If the missiles were manufactured in Iraq, the engines were still smuggled into Iraq. Remember, his agreement was to disarm.

The missiles questionable? to whom? The experts sent in with the ~~clowns~~ inspectors agreed they violated the agreements and ordered them destroyed.

who says the night vision equipment is in violation of the treaty?

If night vision equipment, is considered military equipment, then I think the order for him to disarm would cover such advanced items.

why would saddam care if the embargo is actually helping him?

On the one hand you say the lack of food and medicine is the fault of the UN or rather, the US, then on the other hand you admit Saddam couldn't care less about getting those needs for his own people.

I won't bother to argue with the statements from some of the members of the UN. It is very obvious to many people, that the UN has become a power for third world countries to attempt to control and maybe even overthrow the US. Some of the treaties proposed there, thankfully not signed by the US, were designed to control only the US, they had little or no effect on most of the member countries.

What should we reply when invited to memorial?

when my mil invites my husband to the memorial he plans on saying, "well i've already been to the memorial before.

if you've been there once, there's no need to go again since the talk is the same mumbo-jumbo year after year and i'm not anointed anyway.".

what do you plan on saying or have you said?

I was asked by a person at work tonight to go to the memorial. I told her if I went I would sit beside her and I would be taking the bread and wine. She said that would be my decision. I said , but you would be embarrassed, she admitted she would.

I told her there was no way I would pass the bread and wine without partaking, that I would not reject our Lord by just passing the emblems. She dropped the subject.

They Finally Did It

my parents have finally disowned me.. my dad called yesturday and told me to get the "dogs of my mothers back" about my upcoming wedding.. i told him that i havent put anyone on mum's back and if they are saying it, its because they want to and don't agree with what he and mum are doing.

i said that mum can speak for herself and he said that she and will and the next time you speak to your mother she will tell you that we dont want to ever speak to or see you again...".

at this point in the conversation i hung up the phone in his ear.

I am very sorry you are having such hurt Kim. I do know how you feel. When I left, about 11 years ago, I lost almost all of my family. At that time I just wanted to die.

I can only tell you what helped me. At some point, I think about six months after leaving the WT, I became a Christian, I accepted the Lord into my life and I did really feel much better. There is a scripture that says "the Lord stood by me and infused power into me" I really felt that way.

I wish you all the best and much happiness.

Yes, you can attend if you are disfellowshipped. You just need to come late, don't talk to anyone, leave early.

Sorry, I do not know the date, Easter is April 20 this year, so I assume memorial will be near that date.

Full Moon on 16 April 2003 at 3:37 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time.

I would think, by the full moon, that memorial would be the evening of April 16.

nonsense! the US has blocked imports of nearly all mdeical supplies with the paltry excuse that components of the drugs could be used to produce WMD!

You offer no proof of that statement, but I am sure you could find quotes to back it up. I am sure that I could also find quotes to counter your quotes, so it would be like playing bible ping-pong with the JWs.

Instead, maybe we could just look at reality. Saddam has been exporting more oil out of Iraq than was permissible by the cease fire treaty, with the cooperation of other countries.

Saddam has been buying weapons from cooperating countries in violation of the cease fire treaty, such as the 150 or more (known) missiles, night vision equipment, and I am sure much more that we will find out about.

Saddam has been supporting and expanding his military, at great expense, (he was ordered to disarm, by the UN.)

The illegal weapons were smuggled in somehow. WHY could Saddam not smuggle in FOOD, MEDICINE?

The US blocked medical supplies? WHY? How would you make WMDs out of penicillin,? Or other drugs that would help the Iraqi’s? If Saddam were trying to import "special drugs" that could be made into weapons of mass destruction, then, why wouldn’t the US block them? I am sure there is a great supply of drugs that would serve the Iraqi’s needs without resorting to those particular drugs that are questionable.

The oil for food program was set up by the UN when the cease fire was agreed to, there was no reason for the Iraqi’s to ever do without necessary food or medicine.

Why is it that some people will believe anyone in the world, except Americans, or the American government? Many on the left are ready, and willing, to believe Saddam, Bin Laden, etc., but anything said by US officials is immediately questioned and not believed.

The US has made many mistakes and at times used poor judgement, but what country has done so much better?

I am sure the problems you listed did cause some to leave Iraq.

It should always be pointed out though, that the sanctions allowed sufficient income for Iraq, from oil sales, to provide the necessities for the Iraqi people, food, medicine, etc.

Saddam chose to use most of that income to build his military (forbidden by cease-fire agreement) his 100 or more grand palaces (some a mile or more in length) and to increase the wealth to him and his inner circle

The lack of food and medicine was in no way the fault of the US or even the UN.

Sound Foreign Policy and diplomacy, however long it takes is a tried and tested methodology at helping people to see both sides of an issue and then reaching some sort of compromise without killing people. Your views stated above, and replicated by the White House shows a sad ignorance of history, and dare I say it, is imperialist in the extreme.

Diplomacy does not always work. Nazi Germany is only one example of the diplomats talking while the aggressors were acting.

The "right" may be ignorant, to some degree, of history, but we are not alone. The left seems to think violent aggressive people can always be reasoned with. History proves that idea wrong.

We can talk all we want about being nice to people who are determined to wipe us from the face of the earth (there is evidence that Islam not only feels that way, but teaches their children in schools to think that way) Some, maybe all, Muslims believe that way. We excuse them and say that it is only the radical Muslims, but their Holy Book teaches them that way.

There comes a time when we must "get real", fantasies will only get our country destroyed, our way of life replaced with totalitarianism, and maybe get our families killed. It is like the saying, eat or be eaten. We are the power of the world, we should use that power to assure freedom not only for ourselves but for as much of the world as possible. If we don't, someday there will be a power that will grow strong enough to impose their way on us, you can bet it will not be as kind as America. Borgfree
