at walter reed medical center in washington dc recently the sergeant major of the army, jack tilley, was with a group of people visiting the wounded soldiers.
he saw a special forces soldier who had lost his right hand and suffered severe wounds of his face and side of his body.
the sma wanted to honor him and show him respect without offending, but what can you say or do in such a situation that will encourage and uplift?
Hamas,
I am not comparing President Bush to "The Son of Man" I am saying that some people hate the President because he believes in "The Son of Man"

when i got home from work last night my son was there and i was suprise to see him because it was meeting night and everyone else was gone.
then his mother comes in hmmmmmm "did your son tell you what he has done?
" nope well he has been having sex with his girlfriend the baptized pioneer elders daughter yikes my son (not baptized) and her were girlfriend and boyfriend untill her daddy stop them from seeing each other.
Hi Yesterdays Child,
Just wanted to add my 2. I agree strongly with SixofNine. Never let your son go into a committee meeting without you being there too. Actually, I would not let him meet with the elders at all, he is not baptized and there is no obligation for him to take their crap.
I have a daughter who was involved in an incident once, where an older well respected JW, was passing beer to another table, he handed the beer to my daughter (in a Pizza Hut) and my daughter passed the beer on to the person it was intended for. This called for a committee meeting for all involved, the elder didn't seem to like it, but I would not let my daughter go into that meeting unless I was there with her. They took no action against her.
I also agree with most of the other comments.

we received our civil rights thru the efforts of our parents, g-parents, etc.
will we protect them for us and our children and grandchildren?
theyre the ones that will inherit what we do or dont do.
Heathen,
I am disgusted with both the Democrats and Republicans. I cannot, in good conscience, vote for Democrats, because their "big tent" supports so many things that I, as a Christian, cannot support.
I thought the Republicans would do a good job because they talked good, small government, lower taxes, do away with welfare abuse, term limits, etc., etc., but for some reason, they have forgotten so many of their "standards" once they got in office.
I just wonder what we can actually do to make a difference. I wonder if the Libertarians, once they gained power, would be any different? I am in favor of giving them a chance.

dear sword of jah, .
please explain to me this watchtower doctrine, which still stands today as a revealed truth from the faithful and discreet slave class revealed in 1935 still taught today: .
judge rutherford, representing the watchtower society announced in 1935 in a convention that the doors to heaven were shut down in 1935, and the gathering of the annointed class was accomplished in 1935. .
SwordofJah,
Your comment:
It's not like I start a conversation when I go door to door about the 1930's. ...........while you spend time crying and stomping over the 1930's
there are reasons to look to the past and to point out past failings, example:
Luke 11:47
"Woe to you, because you build tombs for the prophets, and it was your forefathers who killed them.
And:
Luke 11:48
So you testify that you approve of what your forefathers did; they killed the prophets, and you build their tombs.
JWs like to sweep their past under the carpet and pretend they never made mistakes (false prophesies) but even Jesus brought up the past wrongs of the Jewish leaders as you can see above.
You also said:
I preach to people in the territory about Jehovah, his right as our sovereign ruler, about Jesus and what his ransom sacrifice means to all of us, and also about Jehovah's promises for the future.
Do you really fool yourself into believing you preach the same gospel from door to door that the apostles and early Christians preached? You do not. Most JWs preach the gospel of why you should buy this book,...or Watchtower, or Awake, etc.

I agree with you both, Yerusalyim and ThiChi, but, an instance of what rights are being violated, the Republicans are about to pass a law to appease the Democrats, and to buy votes. They are apparently going to pass the law to refund tax money to people who do not pay taxes.
The people who will get checks for four hundred dollars or more, pay no income tax, they pay social security tax, but, they get an "earned income" refund of two or three thousand dollars, that means they get probably everything they paid in social security tax back. So, they pay nothing, then they will get a "tax refund" of several hundred dollars and also receive social security benefits. And, guess who pays the bill? I think that is violating my rights.

Patio,
I have to admit that I feel a little uneasy about some of the laws that are being passed right now. When the government takes anything away from the people they, (government) never wants to give it back.
The terrorist situation calls for extreme measures, but will we ever be as free again as we once were?
I am not fond of either party, but what really can we do? Last presidential election I voted Libertarian, it did no good what-so-ever. What can we do, really, other that vote? We might make a lot of noise, demonstrate, whatever, but unless enough people decide, all at the same time, to vote 3rd party, or maybe something else, what will we accomplish?

SwordofJah,
I believe it went something like "those that are from the other sheep" stand up. I think that's what happened if my recollection is true. Most of the attendees stood up showing that most of the new Witnesses in that era were of the other sheep
This was of course after the speaker spent most of the talk telling the attendees that unless they were "sure" "without a doubt" etc. that they were of the heavenly class to "not" partake of the emblems.
My mother was one of those who had been taking the emblems since the early 1920s, but, after the admonition from the speaker, she stopped. She was a very humble person and could not imagine that she was worthy of going to heaven.
