Father SHUNNED his daughter after becoming a JW ?????????????????

this was 10 yrs ago shes now almost 16 and very confused , her father wont call her or talk to her and hasnt had any contact with her .

i heard it was a sin for them to do that .

he remarried and adopted his new wifes child a bastard with no dad and disowed his only child .

I am so sorry to hear your plight, that is truely horrible. It goes to show just how unchrisitan that cult is. The bible itself, says that a man that does not provide for his own household is worse than one without faith. To mean that scripture doesn't just mean fiscally, but emotionally also.

Maybe your daughter could put that in her letter, that he is not living up to his God given responsibility as a father. She could quote Ephesians 6:4, which basically says fathers shouldn't provoke their children to wrath. Well, I don't know of anything that would provoke a child to wrath more than being completely abandoned by the one who is supposed to be their support.

This guy sounds like a complete idiot and he is hiding behind his so-called father as an excuse for his lack of parenting. It is sickening.

I hope your daughter finds the solution that will make her happy, you as well. That is a very hard thing for a mom to watch, her child in pain.

Yes, I used to worry all the time about A day and how i wouldn't make it, I was far too imperfect you know. I used to have really bad nightmares about it. Then when they changed the whole 1914 I felt myself flinch but I still stuck in there. Now, being out of the cult for several years, I look back and laugh, as I told my JW mom, if arrmageddon does come and if Jehovah is as picky and hard on us as you proclaim then there might be 10 people left on the earth, good luck with those odds.

Meanwhile I work with alzeheimers residents now, and I have one lady who was born in 1914, she is 91, no wonder they had to change that theory, but still, where the hell are they getting their figures for the so called "anointed", sorry, got off topic there.

does anyone know how & where i can post a ms word document which is the letter i have written to my family?

i finally got the guts (yes an aussie) up to send it!

after several drafts, i am finally happy with the copy i have now written.

Wow! What a letter, it is very moving frog. I must say you are very well spoken and wise for a 25 year old. Its funny, i was just thinking about writing a letter to my in-laws who are threatening to get us disassociated if we don't go back to the "truth". Fat chance of that happening. But your letter did inspire me to write them. I know how you feel about the being disfellowshipped or disassociated part at an assembly. Been there, done that. The worst time i think for me though, was at a meeting when this chick sat down beside me and started up a convo, i had to tell her i'm sorry, i am disfellowshipped and she literally jumped up and moved her seat, like i was possessed. Lol at it now but at the time i was so hurt! My family wasn't as bad as yours in that they sat with us at the assembly, but i am sure lots of tongues were wagging at that. But now, years later, we are facing the same crap again, only now, i don't care if they talk to us, we know we are good ppl and they are the unchristlike ones. Hang in there, and I hope that your letters are well received and I pray that God opens their hearts and minds so they will actually sit down and read it, verses tearing it up after reading a few lines. There is always that possibility with witnesses that they won't read it but nonetheless sending it is releasing a burden off your heart and showing who really is christian. Keep us posted on how it goes and sorry i am so long winded. Mama

My JW parents and JW ex-wife

since my episode, which is chronicled elsewhere on this board, my jw parents are driving up from florida to stay a week with me.

my ex-wife, who *i* divorced mainly because she was jw, came to see me tonight without my calling, just to check up on me and make sure i was okay.. some jws aren't that bad, friends.

remember that when you think of blindly look to condemn them all.

I do have to agree with u that not all wits are bad people, I have left the religion as well as my hubby and both our families are still associating with us. I should note that perhaps things would be different, actually, I know they would, if we were disfellowshipped. My parents are really good grandparents now, took a while, but they don't say anything negative to our daughters about xmas etc. When the girls go to visit them they take turns skipping the meetings because we have made it clear the girls are not to attend any meetings. However, I do have to say that the most mean hurtful things said and done to me in my entire life have come from Jehovah's so-called people. I think the org. breeds mean-spirited people because they are so afraid of the payback they will receive if they don't act as expected to any who are considered spiritually weak, spiritually dead etc. Are they for the most part bad people? Hell no, are they for the most part unloving? Hell yes.

I am so very sorry for your loss Cindy. Losing a loved one is hard enough but under these circumstances even more so. I hope you do give your grandma a big hug and tell her u love her, to show her geniune love in her time of need. How she or anyone else responds is out of your hands, you have a right to be there to remember your grandfather and don't let any man or woman stop you. Even though I have never met you my heart goes out to you because facing this situation is something I think about often, my parents are witnesses as well as my hubby's and grandparents but I have decided I won't let fear of mere men keep me from joining in rememberance of their lives when they pass. New World Order - Illuminati vs. WT Society

before i start, i just want to say that this is not any sort of conspiracy-type thread and i don't believe russell was a member of the illuminati.. i just finished reading dan brown's angels&demons, before which i hadn't even heard of the illuminati.

it struck me as curious that the "new world order" as described in the book had some similarities with the society's teachings regarding events in revelation (including the name itself).

in particular, i found it interesting that the illuminati were/are seeking to destroy religion and establish a worldwide government.

my head hurtsi have heard of the masons before, the only reference i ever heard of the illumminati was in tomb raider lol. i will have to look into all this, hmm, new to me!

WHAT'S THE WORST JOB YOU EVER HAD?

the worst one i ever had was working in a frozen chicken factory.

there were about 30 of us in a freezing cold room and my shit job was to feel the half-frozen chicken breasts up, to see if there were any little bones in them.

well after the first 5 minutes my frigging fingers were frozen stiff, so i couldn't tell if there were any bones in there or not........after 20 minutes it felt like my hands were having an out of body experience and if they weren't in front of my frozen face, i would've thought they had dropped off.

lol at the chicken factory mary, very funny. right now i work in a nursing home for alzeheimer's patients as a pcw. its very hard work but i love it. i know i am helping them and their families through a very painful experience. some people would think its a horrible job, cause you name it, we do it. Administer meds, help with tolieting, etc. You get the picture, but I have to tell you, when one of the residents has a moment of clarity and looks at you saying "God bless you for helping me", that's better than any paycheck. The worst job I ever had was as a cleaner at a hospital, not only do you clean up shit, you are treated like it. Doctors and nurses literally look past you like your not there. Or, even worst, I would be cleaning a patient room and the nurse or doctor would throw garbage on the floor right in front of me. There was such a contempt there you could feel it.I often felt cheated looking at the doctors and nurses who looked down their noses at me. Little did they realize I had been given no opportunities to get an education. That was the worst job I ever ever had. But life does go on and I am planning to go back to school in 2 years to take nursing. The chicken factory does sound pretty bad though!

i went to my first meeting in 9 months (dont ask ive got my reasons cant say on an public board).

they reviewed a wt july 1st page 12----19. it was saying that you should have concern for people who are spiritually weak you should remember all the good things they had done in the past.

even if they wernt going to meetings anymore.

i feel for ya, i had a chair break underneath me at an assembly once, i was a teenager and so mortified. i have to say though nothing could get me to walk in a hall ever again. i remember all too well, those last few meetings i went to, crying in the car on the way there, pulling over to the side of the road to throw up, not joking at all. the talk about the "weak ones" is only a vain effort to grasp some of those leaving due to lack of love back into the org. if you make it clear you don't believe in the org. then you will not be shown any love or compassion, as most of us know.

defd, i think you sound like a good person but have you ever stopped to ask yourself why your faith in Jehovah or God has to be tied to a man-made imperfect organization? Jesus said the requirements to salvation where faith in him and HE who sent him. Nothing more, if salvation was simply a matter of being a good jdub, getting your hours in, attending the meetings etc, then Jesus died in vain. If works associated with any religion would result in salvation, then, why did he need to come to earth and die? Spiritual food for thought perhaps?

my older sister, always a devout jw, or so we were led to believe......recently left home and went to live with her boyfriend!

hubby and self are faders, fading very nicely so far.

we went round for sunday dinner at my parents, who are devout jws and they had also invited my sister and her boyfriend.

peeing my pants laughing at this thread, i thought prince looked uncomfortable at the oscars, probably feeling guilty or something, lol. to think, prince can have wild after oscar parties, wear make-up, wearing his wife's clothes and still be a jdub is hilarious. i bet the bethel boys are terrified to touch him cause that would be too much bad publicity. they'll wait a while to go after him, i think. but they will eventually cause even die hard witnesses are rolling their eyes that he's a jdub. sooner or later they will want him to go away, but only after he has made major contributions to the world wide warp that is.
