Its 1984!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean, "Look out for false prophets. No we're not false prophets, we're God's people. Just because a few prophecies.... I mean statements were proved false, that doesn't mean anything."

1 John 4:1
by mjl inwent to the meeting this morning and stayed for the talk.
the speaker used a text that i thought was very ironic, 1 john 4:1 which reads " beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they origanate with god, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.
" i found this ironic becuase we were trained not to test anything in the publications and never question what we hear from the platform.

It wasn't easy, but I won this time. You are player number 12 to have chosen Mao Zedong from China. Mao Zedong from China was a tough one, but I've had a lot of practice. Thanks for giving me something to do. Please visit again soon.
Well, I win this round. You are player number 6 to pick Oliver Cromwell from England, and what a clever choice it was! You almost had me for a while, but you let your guard down. Don't worry, it happens to all of us sooner or later. Please play again, and next time I'll be ready for you, Oliver Cromwell from England.
IT EVEN GOT CROMWELL!!!!!! -

classicist...obviously that is not what we are talking about here..there is a combination of factors including access to a dangerous weapon, a very young child being exposed to such things, possible exposure to images of gunfire on TV, whether it is the news, or movies, or cartoons, or even violence in the neighborhood. Sure, people do get pissed off at each other and murder, but to me this seems much more like a tragic loss of innocence for the 4 year old and a horrid mistake.
Valis, I was talking about the issue at large, sorry I should've specified.

Yeah but 99% of people who kill people with their cars (you know 67% of statistics are made up on the spot), don't want to committ murder. Guns are an instrument of death and as I said before, it is far easier to kill with a gun than with anything else, like a knife.

Question about 2005 district convention dates
by comment ini've been informed that for jehovah's witnesses in the vancouver, canada area, several district conventions will be held in chilliwack.
could someone please post the dates of those conventions, as well as the name of the venue?
(if you happen to know the start and end times for the program, please throw those in too.

I guess the PNE didn't want them back even after all those self-congratulating letters about their conduct and cleanliness.

Valis, I would just like to say it is much psychologically easier to kill with a gun. Look at England, no handguns, barely any handgun deaths, certainly not as much as in America.

I guess this is why I never book through unnamed airlines.. I've never heard of that one.. was it a charter airline?
No, we've got a few new Canadian airlines that are only allowed to work inside Canada. This particular company was continually trying to undercut the competition ($1 fare, etc.) and it lost too much money doing it. Another new one is Harmony Airlines, which used to be called HMY; the former Finance Minister of BC, Gary Collins, will be the head of that company.
