You're only 28 and you go to the store with your 20 yr old brother and the cashier asks you how old your son is! You realize you're not invincible anymore.

The last time I was at a meeting was for a Memorial I brought my hubby daughter and new son, just to please my parents. I was so enraged at my mom, she took my baby boy from me and paraded him around the kh like a proud grandma. She never asked if it was okay to do this or if I minded that EVERYONE there was taking turns holding him. These people won't even look at me, and yet it's okay to hold my baby. How do they know that he's not some spawn of satan? ha!! Anyway I got my hubby to go up to one of the sisters and take him back, we then packed up and left without a word. Mom never apologized, which is fine, because I believe she's too brainwashed to even comprehend. hg

Run In With Ex-Father-In-Law (Elder/PO)
by adelmaal ini had forgotten how much drama it is to deal with an elder who refuses to answer a direct question.
this isn't even bible related yet still he refused to answer my question.
first a little background.. last week my daughter missed detention.

You are so much more calm then me. I would've threatened him with the cops for possible endangerment to my child for not communicating any problems with me. Then I would've gone over there and brought her back home. Then I would've told my ex-hubby where he could shove it, leaving our child with an incompitant guardian. How old is your daughter? hg

WT Rule: Disfellowshipped Should Shun One Another!
by Swan inanybody remember this?
two people who are disfellowshipped can't talk to one another and can't even carpool to the meeting.
i seem to remember this vaguely mentioned in a previous thread.

Ha Ha Truth! That's great, could you imagine being df'd twice! The reason you couldn't talk to another df'd either was to give you incentive to rejoin, because you had no life and no one to talk to. So pretty much stick your head in a hole in the ground until they say it's okay to come out. Thank God for websites like this, to be able to talk to one another and never feel alone!! hg

Hey it's me... I forgot to tell you about Mozilla Foxfire. Valis is right, just download it and use it to get on instead of Internet Explorer. We have Mozilla and I haven't had a problem since xmas. Explorer has been know to get viruses that you can't get rid of and it's too hard, long, and tedious to try to find all the patches for it, plus it may not fix the problem. Heather

Leading double life
by JustTickledPink ini ran into a young jw i hadn't seen in probably 12 years, anyways, she was the presiding overseer's daughter, perfect little jw... she's now 25 yoa, she is still an active witness and in fact a sympathizer to their crap but dressed in a low cut top, belly showing, carrying a beer, trolling for guys out a hot spot on a friday night with a "worldly" friend.. she talked to me for 5 mins and told me she had been df'd for a year but how horrible it was, she is reinstated and doing good..... but everything about her looks said she wasn't a good little jw.. i think more and more hypocrites are being raised in the organization.
i wouldn't be able to stand leading a double life, i would much rather be honest and not hiding who and what i am... but there are more young jws, including ones i would never suspect, that are jws by day, and regular people at night.
i think they are falling into the "sunday morning christians" mentality and carrying tons of guilt around with them.. i just wish they would wake up.

That is sad but true. I found being honest and playing by the rules damn near impossible when I was in. All my friends seemed to have no problem with living that double life but I really couldnt do it. Now I'm out and they are still stuck in it. It will always be that cycle for them and I can't see most of them ever leaving unfortunetely.

What's the Watchtower's definition of an "Apostate"?
by JH inif a person doesn't go to meetings nor in the field service, he's considered "inactive".
an inactive person is not an apostate.
if an inactive person joins a forum like this one, he is automatically considered an apostate by the watchtower org.

I've thought about out it before, but I'm sure that's what all my old JW friends and family call me, an apostate. That word when I was little used to strike fear into my heart. Now, I guess I feel proud to be called that, because it means that I was brave enough not to follow the crowd! hg
