  simon - many many of us fantasize about being able to talk to friends and relatives still "in" and getting them out.

  and / or we fantasize about being able to truly affect the wtbts somehow.

  i've noticed that the phrase "...because of this site..." comes up over and over as the reason why someone has left the jw cult.

  confused... I'm glad you asked this question. A df'd friend of mine showed me the way to this board. I've just been thankful that it's here, never giving any thought as to how it got started. A big THANK YOU to Simon then. He's made a safe place for all of us to come and share our thoughts, feelings, and experiences. For 10 yrs I felt very alone, not anymore! hg

  hey guys check this out.

  i was at the local farmers market where i am a vendor and came across a stand selling emu products, watch out candidlynuts emu hunting season is fast approaching...lol!

  All the relationships you had as a JW, you will soon realize meant nothing. It's hard to see and understand now, but it's the truth. Out here you will find true friends. Ones that will be there for you no matter you religion or beliefs and will hold nothing against you. Take care and know that you have lots of support. hg

  I've got DVR!!

  now i'm a total tv junkie.

  i've got 2 recievers so i can record 2 shows at once.

  i just set them on a timer and i'm good to go.

  Now I'm a total TV junkie. I've got 2 recievers so I can record 2 shows at once. I just set them on a timer and I'm good to go. There's nothing good on daytime TV, so I record a ton of stuff at night to watch the next morning. It's great!! My husband is a bit concerned, because now I'm addicted to night time TV, but I can't help it, there's so much to watch! hg

  anyone watch it last night?.

  i am really starting to love constantine.

  he just gets better and better.. carrie is so consistent, and so good, that i think she is going to win this, but constantine is right up there too.. i also really like anthony fedorov.. i like bo, but think the judges are a little "over the top" about him.

  Doesn't happen very often. I think that Dustin is right about Bo, he has to clean up or get a band. Either way he'll be sucessful. I think we'll hear more about Carrie than anyone else, even if she doesn't win, she seems to be in the same position that Clay Akien is in, cuz we never hear about Ruben anymore. It seems like they're trying to make Vonzel into the next Whitney Houston, God forbid. It'll be interesting to see who messes up next week and gets booted off. So glad Anthony is gone, he seemed like a good kid, but not for the Idol. Just my predictions, ha! hg

  I'm cleaning out my closet!!!

  looking in my closet this morning, i saw all these clothes that i bought for the meetings .............. i would not be caught dead in now!!!!!!!.

  long frumpy skirts........blouses the my grandma would not wear........i really struggled, and even was more "hip" than most.........ugggggggg.

  did you experiance the same thing??.

  Mine were frumpy grandma clothes, which I immediately got rid of along with all my 'sensible' ugly flats! I only wear pantyhose if it's an absolute must, and no more slips!! Although I do confess to wear sweats and a baseball cap most of the time now, I'm a busy Mom, don't have time to look sexy. Ahh, some day though! hg

  I don't know you guys, I really think that Anthony Federova sucks. He's trying to be too much like a Clay Aiken. He'll so good in Vegas, but that's about it. I think that either Vonzel or Carrie will win. I really like Bo, but he's not what Simon is looking for, he's too rough around the edges for an American Idol. He's gonna go far though. Vonzel will probably win because Carrie's too country for this kind of competition. Just my thoughts! hg

  When I was little my Dad told me that I would'nt reach the age of 21 in the "old system". I'm 28 and the world is still spinning. Never really gave it too much thought. The whole idea of living forever with all those JW's kinda scared me. hg

  an old buddy of mine was telling me some story about water skiing and i just said "that's so f**king rad".

  the elders wife standing a few feet away from me looked completely mortified!

  As a teenager at a congregation volleyball game I bent my thumb back trying to get the ball and yelled "God Dammit". So not only did I swear but I was blasphemous too!! I thought it was funny and started laughing, the rest didn't. I was very liberating! hg
