Why are so many JWs hicks?
by kristyann inokay, i know this might sound like an obvious question... but in all reality, why are so many jehovah's witnesses hicks?
why does it seem that there are so many in rural areas?
i hope this doesn't offend anyone... i don't really mean it to be an insult to any of you, cause obviously i consider most of you a lot smarter than some regular jw (or some stereotypical hick).

Dear Melly--
She IS immature. She shouldn't group all people into one catagory. The blonde comment was meant to be SARCASTIC--showing how stupid it is to classify someone on their looks, religion, or whatever. If she is young, I am not jealous. It's taken me the 43 years to get any self confidence. I am middle-aged, overweight, and have LOST quite a bit of my pretty, BLACK hair. On top of that, my hair has gone completely WHITE! I guess I should be the one obsessing about hair--I've been trying all kinds of stuff to get it to grow back. Going into menopause has been very depressing--I won't even bother to tell you all the crap I've been thru with female problems.
My husband puts me down all the time--recently he called me a WORTHLESS BITCH and he wonders why I don't show any interest in him anymore.
If I hurt Kristyann's feelings--I am sorry.
You seem bent on making me feel old--I already do and besides, I have my husband to put me down.

WTS advocates resisting rape to the point of death?
by M.J. inover the years the wts has vacillated on its stance regarding the distinction between rape and mutual consent to fornication.. in years past, the wts has stated that "the primary distinction between rape and consent was whether a woman screamed for help.
" (awake!, 4/22/73, p. 17).. the wts's latest published stance, however, states that while the act of screaming establishes innocence of the victim, screaming in itself is not the sole criteria for determining the victim's innocence before god.
if one is incapable of screaming, it does not matter, since jehovah can read a person's motives:.

If you resist and are killed, wouldn't that be suicide? Or, what if you kill your attacker? Will you be disfellowshipped? Seems like in the WTS opinion it is better to die than be raped!
