This issue has been raised before, and honestly how many churches do you see with windows on them? This also depends on the location of the KH. All the kh's in Puerto Rico had windows and they were open all the time, you could see outside, animals like lizards and bats would actually come into the hall (pretty interesting when this happened). The KH I attended in Puerto Rico even had a double door in the right side that was always open.

Windowless Kingdom Halls
by drahcir yarrum insome time back, i had a disagreement with my brother-in-law, who even though he has doubts about the witnesses, still wants to put on the cloak of being a believer for his mother's sake.
while he acknowledges the doctrinal errors and abysmal treatment of the flock by their elders, he doesn't want to assign a malicious, controlling motivation to it.
i told him that i believed the idea of not having windows in kingdom halls was part of the brain washing that occurs during meeting after meeting during the weeks, months and years.

Crazy Comments
by Cori inwas there a comment made at a meeting that finally convinced you, this is not right?
for me a couple of months ago was in the service meeting, they stated that if the children didnt finish their homework because they were studying the bible or at a meeting that teachers should understand that their meetings and study are more important.
i looked at my wife and went "what"?

I have heard the one about the birds having so much to eat after Armageddon destroys all the bad people also. It was creepy. The comment was like "Imagine the day when vultures are eating the bodies of the people killed by Jehovah at Armageddon, what privilege would it be for the ones that survive to be there and witness all these acts."
I also heard someone commenting about the importance of preparing for the meetings and that it should come before any high school, college or other secular related studies or home work. I was shaking my head on that one.

Bryan's inteview with MAN COW!

I heard the interview, and there didn't seem to be that many people calling in. If anything it turned into a scientology thing. The only one person who called in told Mancow that he was lying when he told on the radio that he had met two JW girls in college and that he had slept with them.
Just goes to show you that most people aren't interested or don't even know that much about the JW religion.

Chaperones
by Gretchen956 inrichie's thread got me wondering what ever happened to the practice of chaperoning???
i mean really, was this just a regional thing where i grew up?
we had to have a chaperone always with the opposite gender even if we were old!

I was asked to chaperona couple of times when I was younger. The reason being that the couple who asked me knew that I wouldn't run to the elders if they were holding hands or kissing. I told them I didn't see why the elders were making a big deal out of it, but they insisted I went along with them.

I remember the saying in my congregation about Armageddon was "the end is around the corner", then it changed to "the end is right in front of us!" I wonder what the saying is now.

typically ridiculous.
by RichieRich inlast saturday, me and a friend from the hall decided to go to nc state fair together.
i have been told that the state fair is not a big deal in other areas of the country, but here in these parts, it means alot to us, expecially since we live in/near the capital city.
about the friend: he's a year younger than me, and we go to the same school.

I wonder if the congregation knows that you come here and BASH Jehovah and his People and take Pictures of you sticking up your middle finger in the bathroom of the kingdom hall..... That makes me upset
So in your opinion was this elder right on what he did? The elder basically is acting manipulative and being deceitful who gets off on the supposedly authority ge has been given... That should make you even more upset.
I say good for Richie, let them have it.
