"What a pain in the butt. All of 29 years old and rudely throwing his weight around like that. I wonder if he is/was a MS? Shut the door quietly on the way out idiot." Making assumptions are we? Like this whole thread is just an assumption by a bunch of people who don't get out much. How about this one? I remember one time I went into a house and they didn't have a tv because it was the devil. LOL!!!! You guys are funny. And wombat I won't need to shut no door on my way out, because I wouldn't be in presence with someone like you. Calling me and idiot because I'm making an observation. Same thing everyone else here is doing on this stupid topic, you just don't like it when it comes back to you.

Why don't Dub families have pets?
by MinisterAmos inout of a dozen or so dub families that live near me i can only think of one with a dog.
at mt ex-congo, i only knew of two families with pets, dogs/cats.
the non-dub pet owning percentage around me is near 100%.

I have to congratulate MinisterAmos on creating what has to be one if not the most silly and dumbest thread I have seen here in the last couple of days. This thread just let me knows a couple of things: 1) you don't know a lot of people, or 2) you don'te get out much.
But that wasn't the stuppidest thing I read, that has to go to Lady Lee's post stating that only weak JWs had pets. I mean how much deep can you dig to make your own agenda. Seriously some of you need to move on with your lives and stop being so bitter about everything. At first I joined this forum to see what others who left the JWs are doing, but now I just stay here for the comic relief.
- Guess what most of the JWs by my area didn't own skateboards that must mean that the elders prohibited them and chastized anyone who had one....
- No wait there were some JWs who didn't drink orange juice with their breakfast there must be something wrong with that....

If you're 22 and just disfellowshipped be glad about it. Now is time to go out and enjoy. Tons of things and places to go when you're 22.

Abusers and Abusees love the org...
by tall penguin inin my experience, those who become jw's as adults (not born in) could be described as abusers or abusees.
more often than not, they have unresolved issues of abuse from their past and gravitate to the structure of the org to re-experience the controlling, abusive environment of their past as the victim or the perpetrator.
from what i've seen, the more these past abuse issues are dealt with, the less of a hold the org has on a person.

Some of the stuff you guys come up is amazing. I don't know what type of world you live in, but there are millions of people out there that had pasts that include abuse or other similar problems and most of them are not JW. Try again.

How DARE he?! This is why I'm still Single!!!
by stillAwitness inwell, i was dating this guy and its been a long time since i have even been with anyone that i thought was worthwhile.
i've been focusing on other things and with everything else going on with trying to gain my independance i just have not wanted to get caught up.
anyways, how dare the guy i was seeing call the whole jw mind-cult issue "stupid" when i tried to explain to him why i am the way i am (awful social skills, the simple excitement from just being around a new scene, etc.

LOL! This is what happens when we blame everything on the past. How about an idea, start taking responsibilities of your own actions. I'm tired of everyone here blaming everything on something so stupid. "I'm socially unaceptable because of being a JW". Well, guess what, it was your decision and your own fault for not having any social skills. When will we start realizing that following stupid ideas from men is our own fault. Most people don't give a rats ass about why we left the JW or why we think its a cult. I say the same thing and I did, why not think for yourself once and put blame were it belongs.

Kingdom Halls and the no windows thing...
by ObservingTexan invery first post.
go easy on me!.
my question though is this.

This issue comes up all of the time. Honestly let me tell you what I think. Most of us here as so into this "blame the WT for everything that happens and show that everything they do is stupid." Well braniac how many churches in general have windows, very few. Also saying that its because cost, paranoia or to keep them from looking outside is plain stupid. When I was still attending all the kingdom halls had windows. The regular one I was assigned to had windows on both sides of the building and they were always open during the meetings. So I don't buy the reasons most of you have mentioned. Maybe we're so bitter that everything they do we come up with a twist. Maybe we need to grow up and now that we're out of their grasp live our own lives and stop going by what someone esle mentions from the platform. It seems that most posts in this forum are about stupid and petty things that anyone in the world would do, but since its coming from a JW it has to be the worst thing ever.

The warnings were TRUE
by unique1 inyou know all the myspace.com warnings that were on here about elders on a witch hunt searching for active jw's blogs and using them against them?
well the elders didn't search but an old aquaintenance did.
she was disfellowshipped for her blogs concerning all the casual sex she was having.

Sorry to say this, but this was all your fault. Why blame someone for reading a post on the internet that you actually made public. You don't have to be a JW to know how stupid this is. Anyone out there with senses would see how dumb this was. If you don't want your stuff to be read by people who have no access than make it private access only.

Did The Watchtower Society Decieve You Enough To Sue Them???
by minimus indid they really misrepresent anything to you that you could sue for?
everyone knows how they take quotes out of context.
do you personally have a valid reason to sue the society??
-
R6Laser
If anything someone should sue us for letting other people run our lives. How about that?

"Individuals all have their own way of recovering from depression or effects from cults life aversities etc. Nate's way of recovering was in a way rebellion, revenge on what they did. If someone raped your daughter, would you not want to go back and bash the guy up? or take him to court, or just stand there and say "well its in the past, even if the effects stand and my daugher is pregnent. When you are phycologically harmed you react in a more abnormal way, even to the average Joe may think "oh your an Idiot for the way you behaved!" It may look like that, but you need the "wisdom" to understand what the person is going through. An example of this "wisdom" is imagine this. A Father and his children go to a local cafe, the father sits down and reads the newspaper, his children run around like lunatics messing everything up and flipping chairs over... (kids about, 8 years old) The father did not react, he just sat there and continued on with the newspaper. The people got slightly agitated and wondered why the Father was not doing anything... Finally a person who is sitting next to the Dad asks "Your kids are messing everything up, arn't you gonna do something about it?" *right now you would think the Dad is just crazy not doing anythign about it and the kids are immature etc.* The Dad then softly says "I'm sorry, my wife just died, the kids just lost their mother" Finally you see it from a different angle, kids that age would not know how to handle such a life issue properly and that would be their reaction. You gain this "Wisdom" and you understand from a different perspective not first impression. So weather its like this with Nate I don't know... There does need to be limits e.g. pretending to be the minister from a methodist church... but if thats his way of recovering and if thats his reaction then give him a break... Evanescence" Still a sorry ass excuse.
