  I agree with the posters who said that this is 'using kids as a human shields is an over exageration.' As a matter of fact most of these article post by Danny are exagerated and taken out of context by his comments. I have pointed out numerous times this. For example the article he posted about a lawyer suing the congregation she attended because she was abused. Well in the article it clearly stated that a police report was filed but the POLICE DEPARTMENT could not bring charges due to there not being enough witnesses or evidence to charge the suspect. This of course got pinned on the WTS and everyone jumped on the bandwagon. Most of the time I read Danny's post for comical relief and see what ridiculous thoughts go through his head to post most of it.

  i suggest we all contribute $5.00 to $10.00 per year so that the site does not shut down on a regular basis.. this would allow simon to hire a server site that is reliable.

  i have never seen a site go down so often.. if simon is in agreement and you are too, would you post here ?.

  my husband hosts many sites including huge hotels for the government.

  I don't think that's how the ads here work. If you click an ad from this site I'm sure there is a counter that keeps the number of times it gets clicked. So it benefits this site, not the one in the ads. The only thing I worry about these ads are unwanted cookies or spyware that might be in those sites once you click on the ad.

  i thought my initial post about this was important, at least more important than this post "fluff thread - what's your view on farting in public?

  " please read on.. i started a thread entitled "free knocking preview on thursday in pittsburgh, pa." i thought a few people at least, if not a lot, might respond with thoughts about how to approach this subject if one to were to actually go to this "free" viewing and discussion.. i am specifically alerting others that it is a free showing of the program and that the director is going to sit down and discuss this program (free i might add) with anyone that wants to discuss it.. i am not from the pittsburg area and was hoping someone might go to the viewing and state "our" views on the knocking program.

  i have seen many threads dealing with the program and thought someone might be interested in anti-witnessing.

  So what are you hoping this accomplishes? Sitting down with the producer and discuss? This is the way I see it. Someone goes to a free public viewing and at the end the discussion begins. If by any indications by the posts in this forum are one can expect a bunch of questions and points to be made by the ex-jw. Going from one thing to the next, jumping all over the place. There will be no reasoning, because as we know JW's will not reason with ex-JW's and the other way around. So in the end people who go will see that most ex-jw's are bitter and sad people trying to convert everyone else or turn them against the WTS. I really don't think it will accomplish anything.

  I'm not saying she shouldn't sue. She has all the rights to do so and expose whoever commited the assault. The point here is that according to the article it mentioned that the POLICE REPORT was filed and the POLICE DEPARTMENT didn't or couldn't bring charges to the District Attorney's office. So its them who are at fault here, the POLICE DEPARTMENT. Are we all blind here that we can't read an article without blowing it out of context.

  It sounds like she should sue the Apple Valley Police Department instead. If I'm reading this correctly it states that a police report was filled with the police department, but since there was no corroborative witness the District Attorney's office couldn't press charges.

  Once again while sad, this is just a case taken out of context. Funny how almost everyone here is saying they hope she wins. I hope she wins also but first she has to start by suing the police department who wanted a corroborative witness to the abuse, after the police report was filled.

  So in one hand you want to get out, turn in your letter of resignation to the body of elders. Then you complain about them not trying to baby you back in. What the hell? I would think that's the first thing you would want. If you want to leave, then leave. Don't make a big issue, well they are not telling me what to do, or they should be more caring. Wow, you're a grown man who used to be an elder. You said yourself you know their games. So the other elders know that you as a grown man can make this decisions without being hounded. I agree with the comment the other elder made to you. You have all the publications, hell you were an elder, what else do you need. If you want to leave just leave. Stop acting like a spoiled little brat. Which is what you were acting like when you made your comment, "care about your 99 other sheep and forget about the 1." Shees, do you want to get out or are you just like everybody else here, you want to prove them wrong and make yourself look right. Amazing, people even complain when they are not gettting counsel on their way out.

  Wow you sound like a jerk! Not only with your letter but the way it was written. If this would've happen to me, be certain that I would've not give a damn to what my boss said and the next time you stepped on the store I would call you out for it and let you have it. I'm pretty sure I could explain to my boss how much anger you have towards me and the religion that this has cause you to act bitter toward every JW. Which, judging by the letter you wrote it seems true. All this because you didn't get greeted! Damn, I take that back, you're not a jerk, your an asshole.

  Wow, its erie seeing the responses here. "Good job", or "You did very good". In my opinion you were the one who was doing the bullying. Yes you are a liar. Saying that you didn't want to argue, when you know well in advance that's all you wanted to do. Argue with the man and show him how wrong he is in his ways. You wanted to shove in his face that he has been wrong, and you were right. God forbid that some people have different views than yours. As far as your mother, that sucks. But she is a grown woman and made her decision. Nothing you can do about that but hope that one day she changes her mind. Obviously the stand your mother has on not wanting to see her grandchildren has nothing to do with being forced. My mother is an active member and she doesn't act like that toward me. Neither do my uncles or cousins who are in it. Just shows how some people interpret things differently.
