The Stone the Builders Rejected
by sabastious inin the first post in this series i discussed the identity of the watchtower as per revelation 13. the second post dealt with the identity of the harlot and the scarlet beast.
this post will deal with the third element "the image of the beast", lets read revelation 13:15-17:.
the second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.

i live in a gated community so i always tell the guard to kick them out when i see them.
i also feel sorry for them when i see them because i remember how much i despised doing it.

I haven't attended a meeting since April 2003 and have only encountered JW's working door to door ONCE.
Evidently the JW who came to my door with a 'memorial' invitation several years ago hadn't been told that
a member of the 'evil slave class' lived here.
I asked him to explain how Acts chapter 15 proves there was a central authority (GB) in the first
century. His beaming smile went south in a hurry when I asked him WHO sent Paul to Jerusalem and
WHY did they send Paul to Jerusalem (Because some instigators had come into Antioch preaching apostate ideas to
the Gentile Christians).
He must have figured out I knew too much about JW's when I used the word "apostate" because he turned
around and hit the road Running like he had seen satan in the flesh.

Something's missing
by Anony Mous ini haven't been on here much in the last couple of months.
but i have shared custody so my ex keeps me informed of 'witness holidays' where she would have custody and i would get make up time.
what's missing is the 3 day conventions.

our four day assemblies in the 1970's through the 1980's were pure torture.. they were held at a horse race track in cicero,il in the smoking hot and humid month of july.
they charged around $2 for parking.

My ex and I thought we were going to have to endure a 3 day DC in the hot and humid heat in a southern city.
The steps were at a 45 degree angle and the uppermost seats weren't affected by the insufficient A/C system.
Instead of wrestling the steps with 2 small children, one an infant 6 months old we decided to make a pallet in the spacious hallway in an out-of-the way location along with other parents.
Within 10 minutes of the start of the boasting session, we were confronted by an overzealous snot-nosed punk attendant who had to be at least 17 years
old.
The little mustard-yellow shitting punk told us we had to go inside the auditorium because we couldn't be disturbing others by being in the hallway.
We gathered up our children, went back to the 'approved' motel, checked out (fortunately I had paid with a bank debit card), loaded
up our "pioneer" van and drove an hour to the beach and a nicer motel room that was cheaper than the 'WT approved' motel.
We stayed a week and enjoyed the DC immensely just as it should have been enjoyed....
We went AWOL.
