On southern cotton and rice plantations the Overseer carried a whip to beat the slaves into submission. Not much has changed... the slaves still get beat by the overseer.

Blondie, you have evidently (dubtalk) acheived a pinnacle in your career as the ultimate WT study article reviewer.
If this qualifies as "food at the proper time" then the poor beggars who will be there are in the middle of a "spiritual famine."
Shouldn't we feel so sad for all the 'brothers' and 'sisters' who drink this poison tomorrow morning. No doubt (dubtalk) they will connect Uzzah with our apostate views (it's so tragic when the apostates raise their loathesome heads in the congregation) and their faith in
Joe Hobathe FDS will be bolstered to the point of no return. -

WHY do they stay?!?!
by Pwned ini just dont get how people can stay in a religion that constantly changes the "truth".
never mind the scandals, that is a seperate issue.
but the foundation of a religion is its doctrine, how can you believe an organiztion that constantly changes it.

The 'Truth' provides them with a reason to believe in something they can see. How many times in WTBTS publications do we see the phrase 'God's visible organisation'?
Unless they are 'given' something tangible to replace the 'visible organisation', the defense mechanism programmed into their brains is very hard to penetrate. Although the WTBTS keeps pounding into their minds that the JW's are in a 'spiritual paradise' nothing could be further from the truth of those claims. If a JW realises that Phil 4:7 is nowhere to be seen in the organisation, they can then be approached and directed to Jesus Christ as the only mediator between God and men.

Need Article on No Contributions to Non-JW Charities "Spiritual Food"
by rebel8 ini am getting into it with a jw about this, who is claiming that wts encourages and allows jws to do charity work and give donations to non-jw charities.
i know i've seen the opposite in print in wts literature, but i can't find it right now.
google and searching this forum--haven't turned up anything.

Have in mind, too, that sometimes what may do the most good is something other than money. Jesus told his followers to "go, preach, saying, ?The kingdom of the heavens has drawn near.? . . . You received free, give free." (Matthew 10:7, 8) Similarly today, Christians realize that the time, energy, and money spent in supporting Kingdom witnessing?which improves lives and gives hope?is charitable giving of the best kind.
The borg certainly is 'improving lives' in predominately Catholic third world countries as shown by the increases. At the same time the JW's in developed countries are doing all they can to support the work financially. Let's see how long this keeps up.

Whatever you honest heart compels you to give.
The WT also wants your soul.
It also desires your children. Now, for the pedophile elderdubs and in the future it wants their hearts and souls, too.

A 1914 generation question
by Pwned ini was around in 1995, barely, but i dont remember any talks or articles where the new light about the generation of 1914. did they change w/o coming right out and saying so,or was there a talk.
especially in regards to the mission statement or whatever in the awake, did they make an announcement or did they just hope no one would notice?
i just cant believe that there wasnt a mass exodus after that, my family never mentioned the change to me, i didnt even know til years later on this site.

Let me see if I understand this correctly...
The Awake masthead on page 4 of the 1/8/93 issue states: this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure New Order before the generation that saw the events of 1914 passes away.
The Awake masthead on page 4 of the 1/8/2001 issue states: this magazine builds confidence in the Creator's promise of a peaceful and secure new world that is about to replace the present wicked, lawless system of things.
I'm getting just a little upset that this freak of a Watchtower god keeps changing the promise he made to me, his loyal and faithful servant. This shitehead god will destroy my butt if I lie to him but he can lie and screw with my honest heart and I'm supposed to believe and continue serving him?
You are kidding me, right?
The freaky Watchtower god even lied to me in his Watchtower magazines about the meaning of generation genea. According to the dictionaries and lexicons that I have personally researched, the word genea in Matthew 24:34 means the persons then living contemporary with Christ. In addition the Hebrews seemed to have reckoned time by the generation. In the time of Abraham a generation was an hundred years, thus Genesis 15:16, "In the 4th generation" = in four hundred years (compare verse 13 and Exodus 12:20). In Deuteronomy 1:35 and Deuteronomy 2:14 a generation is a period of thirty-eight years.
What?
You must think I'm a real idiot if, after all this crap the Watchtower god spews out of his mouth like vomit for so many years I'm scared of his stanky unwashed butt.
I have been reading Deutoronomy 18:20-22 a lot lately..
I think I understand.

Telling them all I read Crisis of Conscience right before disassociating will probably keep them away for a few decades.
I was going to call them and ask why I haven't been invited yet but after reading GBL's post I remembered that I told them they were apostates for believing the GB is still the FDS after they found out about the UN affiliation. I'm really going to miss the crackers and kool-aid samples they pass around.

Why reform a religion that has been restored and is serving "the true God"?
Remember, they have the truth.
