Hi lisa, I'd be interested in hearing more discussion about whether or not the discipline of non-members interferes with the non-member's rights.
I think the church does not have the "right" per se to discipline non-members, but if it's not restricting someone else's rights, then what action could be expected on the part of the authorities?

The UN has a Declaration of Human Rights (IIRC that's what it's called), which seemingly prohibits shunning. It's not a law.
There is case law around an Amish shunning taking place at a business, and the court intervening. You may be able to find it.

So, it's about the risk of them converting kids.

Also, this religion that I understand to be based upon the Old Testament criticizes dubs for not valuing the sanctity of life for not approving blood-related medicine.

I was just wondering, how do the bros practice for their parts? Do they have a TMS-like scoring system?

Just following their own guidelines, I imagine them going through a mental checklist:

Do not try to cover too much. Present your material in such a way that it will be easy to remember.
Preparation should also include giving attention to your delivery. Do not minimize this.
