I hope you don't come down with pinkeye, scabies, bedbugs, or mononucleosis. That would be contagious.

"It's not religious..." Wait... What???
by dynamiterose77 inmy friend, mike works as a massage therapist, and there is a woman at the shop that is super-jw-woman and is constantly hounding him with things.. today, he's messaging me and he tells me that she was trying to push a brochure or something on him.
he said he'd really rather not read a religious pamphlet.. so... she says, "it's not religious... it's from god.".
isn't that kinda what religious means?

Seriously, he could get her to quit rather easily.
There's lots of massage techniques, meditation stuff, etc. that he could start talking about as incessantly as she talks about her non-religion. Discuss chakras, etc. He could say something about how he did a ritual in all the rooms to bring the positive spirits there and they're speaking to him now no matter where he goes in the building. They are telling him they are trying to possess her or something.
Deliver this news with a secretive wink. She will freak out and quit.

Why did Ray Franz leave the Organization? Your Opinion Matters!
by SanLuisObispoTruthSeeker inwhat would make a man throw away all his earthly riches to expose the cult?
what did ray franz have to gain by leaving in total poverty?
if ray franz had stayed in place, he could have lived like a god, why did he leave?

I'm going to take a wild guess and say it was a combo of ethics and happiness.

Confidential News from Spain from an "Insider"
by AndersonsInfo inhttp://watchtowerdocuments.org/confidential-news-from-spain/.
the following email was sent to watchtower documents recently from a witness insider in spain.
congratulations for all the information you have given on the legal framework of the watchtower.. in spain, the watchtower is following the instructions coming from patterson that works exclusively with the law firm baker & mckenzie.

This is off topic from the OP, but here is info about the definition of bona fide volunteers under the ACA. I wonder if providing meals, room and board causes them to fall outside of this definition.
Bethelites get free health care
Is it within the confines of a qualified health plan though? I thought they just get services at the facility, not at hospitals?

The INTJ Personality Type, (and those close to it)
by done4good ini am compelled to write a bit about this at this late hour here in the us, because it is keeping me up.. the recent four year old thread on the briggs myers personality type test that was dug up, produced an interesting finding.
many here, (at least tested informally for), the intj personality type.
intjs also do not understand irrational behavior particularly well at all.. why does this matter?

I've taken the actual test for a job interview and was denied the job due to the expectation that I would not want to interact with others. lol.
I have a strong E undercurrent and I interact with others all day now. As long as they don't hug me or tell me really sad, graphic stuff, I do fine. I just need to have some solitary time in my week to center myself.
Anyway, I've taken the online short test numerous times and got INTJ all but once.
Meyers-Briggs is one of the only psychological tests I actually believe in.
@rebel8 I learned about MBTI through an old post from you.
Spreading the gospel, one post at a time. (I will count this as 1 RV this month.)

I agree it does seem there is a disproportionate number of INTJs among active members here. I of course would like stats on that. ;)
Dubbery is highly incompatible with INTJs, so it would stand to reason that many are ex-jws. Also, INTJs are drawn to asynchronous methods of communication, like Internet forums. They like analysis and imagining different scenarios--viola, JWN.
I believe most successful JWs are ExxJs. They do not allow for boundaries or deep thought. Introspection is highly discouraged--it was when I was in--you were supposed to be studying a publication, praying or meditating on what you learned, so as not to let Satan in. Do you know how hard that is for an INTJ? Introspecting is like breathing for me. -

VERY short day at the Arlington/Dallas International Convention-My Observations
by CaptainSchmideo inokay, some good takeaway:.
i have never been to a convention quite like this before.
a very friendly vibe all around, lots of banners and posters with sayings like "sending love to all our brothers", "see you in the paradise", "ecuador sends greetings", and "jehovahs-witness.net" (okay, i lied on that last one...).

What is this "see you in paradise" thing? It's something the dubs say on your deathbed (had it said to me when I was bleeding to death).
Anyway, why can't they see each other now? Why do they have to wait until TNS?
It creeps me out. Soooo culty.

"I'm better than you.."
by startingover13 ini've reached out and contacted a few of my past friends.
some are still cool as ice, while others have taken on a "i'm better than you" type of attitude.
the first question is usually about becoming a servant, pioneering, or some other facet of service.

New Living Translation
"Anyone who isn't with me opposes me, and anyone who isn't working with me is actually working against me. "Messed up, black and white thinking--words spoken to create affinities and enemies, dichotomies instead of critical thinking.

I never realized that Hitler's persecution of the Witnesses was worse than that of the Jews

Hi Aunt Fancy, You may be interested in this thread. In short, a few ex-jws tried getting the museum to put the wts documents in its library and the dubs successfully fought it. Years later, I heard about it and started contacting them to ask again. They agreed and put the Yearbook with the Hitler conciliation letter in it. Dubs should have nothing to fear from having their own literature in the museum. Let the Truth be told!
So anyway, I was thinking about this thread and was hoping someone could give me scans of these articles. If I can get scans, I will donate them to the museum.
Again, let Truth be told, in their own words.
