Yeah, true, but let's not forget that it was a group of jurors that let him out. I blame them. When you say "the system" it sounds to me like an intangible concept. In this case, it was a small group of people that voted to release him against the recommendations of experts. They made a huge error in judgement, and now more people have suffered because of it.
when i looked up the un website & found the wt as a ngo i told my wife.
she implied that it was an apostate site.
i told her 'i typed in united nations' , how are apostates going to hijack the un site?.

Strangely, although patriotism or any non-neutral activities or beliefs have been condemned, it appears the Watchtower Society leadership itself has acted in breach of that rule on some occasions:

why am i surprised on reading the latest watchtower, the april 15 2005?
i had thought that the wtbts would at least be cautious in making its prophecies now.
surely after over 100 years of failed prophecy you might be a bit more careful, or would you?.

Why would they learn? Why abandon a successful strategy? The constant end of the world predictions are bought hook, line, and sinker by faithful JWs...every time! They might lose a few after each prediction comes true, but I think losing a few is worth it to them....w/o The End looming in the near future, a lot more would leave.
Make apocalyptic predictions=keep the dubs in the b0rg selling books, but lose a few after the predictions don't come true

i was wondering how many here take special precautions, like deleting internet files and clearing your internet history, so that no one else may use your computer and find out that you're visiting apostate forums and reading apostate literature.. maybe some won't even put a jwd icon on their desktop, just incase a jw family member could see it.. .

I hide it, but not to hide it from JWs. I'm hiding it from anyone who might walk by. I do not go around admitting I'm an ex-JW to anyone I know. Never. It would hurt my career to admit I used to belong to a cult.

well my beef for the day is this.
my mother, who claims to be a faithful dub, attends weddings and funerals in other churches, but she sits down when we are supposed to stand (ie, when a prayer is being said, when the bride is walking down the aisle, etc.).
she is proud of herself for "making a stand".
As the reverse to your story I quoted above, what do you think would've happened if I would have done something to disrupt their praying? I know telling them it wasn't all right would have prevented the praying but earned me some dirty looks or something. No big deal.But what if I had laughed at the television (that they left on) or talked on the phone or some such other rude behavior? Would they accept it as turnabout being fair play?
Maybe next time I'll ask for equal time and pray to Baal....

With dubs, turnabout is never fair play. I've pointed that very thing out to my mom many times. Does no good, though.

i just had a flashback that reminded me of one of the only times i saw my elder-father somewhat "fed up" with his fellow brethren.
once upon a time, my father had some sort of first-aid badge from his workplace.

Quotes, now you've got me thinking. I'll bet some motivated apostates could read up on the local regs for holding conventions and just walk around to see if they are complying....then blow 'em in. I'll bet there are tons of regs they violate.
Here, for example, there are tons of fire codes and it's almost impossible to get a group of several thousand people to comply with them. Hell, just propping open a door or keeping anything in the hallway is enough to get a citation.
