Wolfman Jack is a JW? I believe he is dead. But was at a couple of assemblies. But then, I supposed I may have been lied to, but mine own eyes remember seeing him and told it was so. JW? couldn't tell you.

He was a cute, talented, little kid attending assemblies in the LA area with his family and Wolfman Jack back when I was not much older. As for your question, "It's Hollywood...." one would have to be there to decide for themselves.

Hate filled creatures....
by a friend in need ini should have started an new thread ... didn't realize so many would jump in on holly's post.
i may have used too strong of words in saying 'hate filled' by why do you all call someone who disagrees with you a 'troll'.
i disagree with lots of people without resorting to name calling.

This is a direct question; AFIN, why are you here? On this message board, not just this thread? Your screen name implies to me you are looking for help of some sort. But, your posts are defensive, derrogatory, and irritating. Certainly, you do not come across as a caring, compassionate, understanding, person representing anyone Divine. So again, why are you here? what are you looking to accomplish? I am here because I relate to the heartfelt hurts, and experiences I have in common with others. Because maybe I can heal and live a more happy balanced life, something which is non-existant for anyone with an intelligent mind of their own within the WT org which I was raised in and indoctrinated into. If you do not, have not, or refuse to see and acknowledge these facts, then I wish I could be so simple minded. Peace, H

yes, and they honestly feel they are helping the grieving one by what they consider as fact. The disfellowshiped one is dead and deserves to be as judged by the guidance of holy spirit - oh, that hurts, I actually tried to accept that at one time - I am embarrassed...

Are some people REALLY better off in high-control groups?

i've heard othes say similar things.. but i have a difficult time with this.
is it not true that high-control groups stiffle a person's emotional and intellectual development?

like "a THINKING Christian would", or, a "MATURE person would" do this or that---and conscience now becomes "must"!
This is often taken a compliment to the individual that they are considered thinking mature persons and so will of course go along with what is clearly expected. Or, they risk being considered or considering themselves as un-thinking or immature. So there is no room for the individual to allow questions which they might normally have.

if you can be misjudged and badly hurt and then punished for something that isnt your fault, and you can bow to that punishment and accept it, and forgive those people that did it to you, and accept that punishment like it was your fault, even when it wasnt, then i think you have found the true meaning of love and forgiveness, and hold the keys to the kingdom.
Woa, Holly, you don't know me, but I have been reading your posts with great interest! Your statement above describes martyrs, beaten and abused individuals. Being misjudged and not standing up for yourself is being a martyr and that is what the JW elders and their flocks will do to you in a heart-beat. They will be looking for anything to chew you up and spit you out in order to secure their own visions of self-righteousness. Are you ready to grovel at their feet? I've seen it, experienced it first hand - at the hand of the great Mr. Jaracz himself. No I am not df'd or anything else, I refused to allow them the gratification for their own self-righteousness. Simply disappeared. Lose yourself, lose your mind, lose your self-respect and you will qualify as a good JW. Not a child of the Divine, but a child of those in charge of the Watchtower, not what they claim to stand for! Think a lot more before you jump...
