Does anyone think that the Cult will now attract a few ''wannabe associated with a psycopath'' misfits?
This just may boost the numbers.

Annointed: yearly figures
by DaCheech in.
is it my imagination.... or did the numbers of "annointed" partaking in the lords evening meal go up by 5 people this year?.
what explanation can make any sense at all about this?

they took her to the side room and did a check list of examining questions.
BIZARRE (but believable) - this implies that the elders have a greater understanding than the anointed - ie., would it be correct for a publisher to question a GB's standing?

Blimey - it went up by THIRTY in 2002.
The easiest explanation is that as they are very old and many suffer ill health, they missed previous Memorials (which explains an arificial increase) - I am, of course, pre-empting a JW explanation.

Fighting carrots with carrots....MY turn to hold the stick!
by AloneinOh inlately i have been working on a letter to my parents to try and explain my life and what brought me to this point.
i have been out for 20yrs now but jw beliefs were still always in my head and had an influence on my life up until now.
never had a birthday party, never had a christmas celebration, and even refused blood transfusions twice (idiot!).

Difficult without knowing what they will actually take notice of - a lot of JW have closed their minds to the thoughts of others. Maybe you could mention that you are afraid of being stumbled by false prophets? (you can add a Scripture or two here) - and then go on to the predictions about Armageddon. Usually JW have the argument that man makes mistakes - but the Anointed have a MASSIVE responsibility, and it is a mistake they have repeated. Quite a few false prophets and prophesies there! That will lead you to the 1914 issue, itself based on a lie of manipulated dates and Russell's fascination with pyramids. Again, you can point out that you want to worship GOD and NOT the results of a man's hobby - there is a Scripture which states, ''Interpretations are up to God''.
Are they aware of the UN fiasco? Maybe you could print off the letter from the Internet (I have, just in case!). Sadly, they may be gullible enough to believe the Society's excuse... BUT YOU can maintain that YOU are being faithful to GOD, by keeping away from the things which Jehovah detests (and you can point out that THEY, your parents, have taught you to do so and supported you in doing this - and thank them!)
Sorry not much help - keep us posted on the outcome - if I can help in any way, PM me

Would Michael Jackson be in all this legal trouble if he stayed a JW?
by booker-t inas you posters know my mom has been a "devout" jw for over 40 years and just won't bend when it comes to the faults of the wts.
i have talked until i was blue in the face for over 10 years since da'd myself in 1993 but just can't crack my mom.
well she made another ridiculous comment to me the other day in her attempts to get me "reinstated" back as a jw.

I wasn't aware that Michael Jackson was a baptised Witness - but if what I've read on here is true, then I think that if he'd stayed in the Organisation he would have been an elder by now - and thus, completely blameless without a charge to answer.

Trustworthy advice - cover up pedophilia - must have two witnesses
TWO Witnesses? (yes, like there's GOING to be witnesses to THAT crime - the only witness here is the victim!) and yet, I know (personally) of elders acting on hearsay!!

As in last week?s article, the WTS tries to show that the angels are directing JWs to the "sheep."

Unforgivable Sin?
by Low-Key Lysmith ini seem to remember back in my jw days, a scripture that said something to the effect that if you publicly denounce jehover, you would never be forgiven of it?
i really want to bring this up to my ever-persistant family as a good reason for me not to come back to meetings and try to be reinstated.
i have already told them that i will never, ever, ever come back, that i don't even believe in god per-se.

As a child I heard this - the unforgivable sin is sinning against the Holy Spirit. It scared me (I didn't know what it meant, not sure as I do now) - I asked what it meant, but got an even scarier answer - can't remember exactly, but was personal.
