  this is one of the things i never understood as a jw.

  i was told that jws were not superstitious people.

  as followers of the true god jehovah, we weren't to give in to false beliefs, even if others were practicing them.

  THANKYOU Rebel8, lol - it's so strange how my memory serves different to current JW - that's the beauty of finding this site, I realise I am NOT going mad. Just over a month ago I was told that 1975 was NEVER prophesied by the Society as a significant date (and other stuff too) - it's almost as they have been completely re-programmed......bizarre...

  I don't think pointing out the hypocracy, or the imperfections, of Russell and Rutherford etc washes with modern JW - they have a very ''coloured'' view of these ''Pioneers''. Now I keep hearing how Jehovah will ''out'' the wrongdoing in His Organisation (Unless, of course, the Newspapers beat him to it).

  To see for myself what Olin Moyle sued over - like I said, I wasn't aware of this, and if the Governing Body used the WT to libel an individual, then I personally believe that to be well out of order especially after what I have just read in the ''Scottish Case'' transcripts.

  lol - I was just doing a google search on the Olin Moyle trial (as I'm not familiar with it) but I HAVE just read that :-

  During the Scottish trial the directors of the Watchtower Society admitted....

  1. They taught ERROR
  2. They have promulgated (published) FALSE PROPHECY
  3. Any Jehovah's Witness who DISAGREED with the organisation, and said so, would be DISFELLOWSHIPPED.
