How long have they been keeping records for?
by inquirer insorry with all these threads, but this is something that i detest!
flaming records!
:(

Do you think the WTS keeps records due to "outside evil influence?"
by inquirer insomeone said to me recently that the jw stuff they teach is true, but maybe the reason why they are corrupt (and keep records on people) is because of the evil outside influence?
but i was thinking to myself lately that when the jw's were in the nazi concentration camps -- those jw's died for what they believed in.
they were good witnesses.

JW's and records
by frozen one inthis is a bit of an expansion on the above thread.... if memory serves (which is questionable), it seems that i read or heard that if a witness had employment which made them privy to files at work and if they saw something in the files that may be evidence of "wrong doing" that they were obligated to report the information to the elders.
for example, if a dub worked at a video store and saw that another witness had been renting r rated movies or (gasp) porn, the elders needed to know this.
or maybe a witness worked at a hospital and had access to medical files, the elders would need to know if anyone had been treated for vd, had a forbidden blood treatment, or if a sister had an abortion.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses keep records on people?
by inquirer ini have known some people (i dont' know if it's true or not) [and i am the kind of person that doesn't like to cause trouble] who have said that jehovah's witnesses keep tabs/records on people.
all the things they have done like if they got babtized, personal problems/experiences, arguments they may had with people, and just their general conduct as well.
have any people here found out about a "black book" where they keep records on you?

An almost uncontrollable anger
by chuckyy ini seem to have had a drastic personality change since i disassociated myself.
i have gone from a relatively calm human being to someone who is full of anger and sometimes what feels like an overwhelming rage because of shunning.
how do you deal with those emotions??

They can not copyright the term "Watchtower" by their own words
by jwsons inin any circumsatance, they can not copyright the using of "watchtower" (like in "watchtower observer" or "quotes-watchower") for the term "watchtower in not for themselves.
that's what they themselves wrote in the proclaim book (wts 1993, page 48, footnote): .
"the expression "watch tower" is not unique to russelll's writings or to jehovah's witnesses.

A religion with nothing to Celebrate
by eyeslice inhow sad that the witnesses have nothing to celebrate.
the more i think about it since i stopped going to the meetings, the more i feel that spirituality and religion are about opportunities to give thanks and to celebrate life with family and friends.
christenings or name giving ceremonies celebrate the gift of a new life to a family.

THE INFORMATION AGE AND NEW JW MARKETING CHANGES
by seven006 inlately on this board there has been a couple of threads that show how much the watchtower is being effected by the open communication of the internet and web sites like this one.
they are changing long time policy and trying new ways of getting their religious product to the market.
no longer do their leaders hear the voice of god and then pass it directly on as unwavering guidance to their customers.
