Do Jehovah's Witnesses keep records on people?

i have known some people (i dont' know if it's true or not) [and i am the kind of person that doesn't like to cause trouble] who have said that jehovah's witnesses keep tabs/records on people.

all the things they have done like if they got babtized, personal problems/experiences, arguments they may had with people, and just their general conduct as well.

have any people here found out about a "black book" where they keep records on you?

The WTS is founded on faultfinding. Their history is filled with it. They find fault with churches, governments, businesses, entertainment, media, and essentially everything they do not directly control.

It's to be expected that they would keep detailed records about their members for the purpose of faultfinding. I'd be willing to bet they don't keep records about any good things their members do.

An almost uncontrollable anger

i seem to have had a drastic personality change since i disassociated myself.

i have gone from a relatively calm human being to someone who is full of anger and sometimes what feels like an overwhelming rage because of shunning.

how do you deal with those emotions??

I don't know whether you still believe in JW doctrines, but I do.

If you do, this is how I see it. You are carrying your torture stake [you can notice the load more] (Matthew 10:38-39 -- there are other verses too that have a similar expression.) You are being persecuted and anyone who desires to believe in Jehovah, the real Jehovah (2 Timothy 3:13.)

But if you no longer believe in their doctrine, it doesn't apply to you.

I read the article pretty quickly, but I suppose these Witnesses would defend her to the "highest heaven." That dumb dog killed someone you know!

She needs some education! Fined! Or something! Getting support from her "Kingdom Hall buddies," is not the right attitude.

They can not copyright the term "Watchtower" by their own words

in any circumsatance, they can not copyright the using of "watchtower" (like in "watchtower observer" or "quotes-watchower") for the term "watchtower in not for themselves.

that's what they themselves wrote in the proclaim book (wts 1993, page 48, footnote): .

"the expression "watch tower" is not unique to russelll's writings or to jehovah's witnesses.

Damn right they can't copyright that name! You can't copyright names like McDonald's or objects like watch towers or watchtower... I don't know how it should be written... but the point is, you can't copyright that term Watchtower! What a blow up!

JW's and records

this is a bit of an expansion on the above thread.... if memory serves (which is questionable), it seems that i read or heard that if a witness had employment which made them privy to files at work and if they saw something in the files that may be evidence of "wrong doing" that they were obligated to report the information to the elders.

for example, if a dub worked at a video store and saw that another witness had been renting r rated movies or (gasp) porn, the elders needed to know this.

or maybe a witness worked at a hospital and had access to medical files, the elders would need to know if anyone had been treated for vd, had a forbidden blood treatment, or if a sister had an abortion.

IT GETS WORSE AND WORSE!

I myself couldn't give a flying toss what was in someone's records. You only LIVE ONCE, you know. I don't think you should judge people on what happened in the past! Most people are so boring you know, you don't need to know anything because we are all human and we have so much things in common.

I used to think to myself "boy, I am the only one that thinks about subject a in that sort of way." But with the Internet, you find out that other people like the same stuff as you! Happens all the time!

Jehovah is the best record keeper. Don't they think that?

But I was thinking to myself lately that when the JW's were in the Nazi concentration camps -- those JW's died for what they believed in. They were GOOD WITNESSES. Shouldn't the WTS keep the "congregation clean" and rather let the "JW religion die" rather than letting it being corrupted with record keeping? I know... I seem to have a thing about this lately, but to me (and a lot of you people would agree) that record keeping is bad. So I guess I have answered my own question then. But what are YOUR (us "ex Witnesses" know what it means in capitals - ha ha ha) thoughts on this?

If these Witnesses really loved Jehovah, they would close it down tomorrow, or destroy all records pertaining to PRIVATED INFORMATION, right? Why can't they become martyrs like first-century Christians. Every Christian everywhere should die what they believe in rather than let something become corrupted like that.

This is worse than the "cold Witness" attitude. I could be a Witness and put up with this sort of thing. Because they do this, I don't think they are Christian. They are no LESS CHRISTIAN than those they put the finger at and say they AREN'T CHRISTIAN. It seems to me these people are apart of Christendom as well.

WHERE ARE THE REAL CHRISTIANS? (Seriously.)
