How many Bible studies does it take before brainwashing sets in?
by hubert ini would like to know how the study starts...... what kind of information is given to the potential new convert when he / she starts studying with j.w.
's., lesson to lesson.. what is taught in the first few "lessons".. when the brainwashing starts to be taught.

A lot of people probably get brainwashed straight away! Yep! Straight away!
How? Because they plant the idea of the death and destruction in their mind and Satan is the ruler of the world, Paradise soon yada yada yada. It strikes an impulse reaction! Oh boy! Better do something! Don't forget, this is an unusual religion. It's pretty hard to forget about JW's! When you hear about stuff like this (after the first Bible study) the first time, it's like the elder is trying to help the student stick his favorite poster on the wall... After he leaves the poster falls off the world.
The next week when the Demon elder comes around, the student says "What's the best way to keep this poster on the wall?" Then the "glue", the next Bible Study is done and when it's finished the brainwashing sets in and the student things this is a pretty good religion. The "poster" has been permantely been stuck to the wall! The picture looks nice now!
Now the person is well and truly brainwashed! -

Six Billion Hearts Will Soon Stop Beating. . .
by ACEofCAD inannounced our circuit overseer last night in his talk about the urgency to preach because of the times.
followed by a silence that was broken with ohhhs and ahhhs.
he said that a couple of times throughout his part, simulating a beating heart with his fist.

Are the Society planning a 'Pledge of Allegiance'? IT MAY BE TRUE!
by nicolaou ini've just learned from a trusted contact at thewatchtower.org 'norris', that the society intend to put a resolution to the congregations shortly - though definately not at the 'special talk' meeting next month.. here's the scary bit.
this resolution needs to be responded to by all baptized jehovah's witnesses.
we have not been able to get hold of the wording but have been informed it is intended to provide the brotherhood with the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to jehovah and his organization.

An Elder Told Me.... Many To Be Disfellowshipped Soon...
by Doubtfully Yours inan elder told me the book is jehovah's latest provision to cleanse his organization.. he said soon all people that have drifted, inactives, and others baptized and not complying with the biblical mandates for a jw, will be visited and given an option to shape up or ship out.. he said that if the person refuses the help offered by the congregation they'll be notified of the date of disfellowshipping and given time to appeal the decision.. he was so happy stating that this way jehovah's organization was preparing for the final clean-up before armageddon.
he sounded so convincing that it almost made perfect sense what he was saying.
i got goose bumps listening to his reasoning.. dy

In My Opinion...
by OldSoul inin my opinion (for the sake of sixofnine and his propensity toward apoplexy):.
it seems to me that while there are many issues that we could address regarding the watchtower bible and tract society/governing body/congregation of jehovah's witnesses, there is one that stands out as uniquely given to ease of communication.
i would like to take this opportunity to state which issue and why, then invite open commentary.. the issue of the watchtower bible and tract society attaching itself to the un/dpi.. while i readily agree that this is minor in importance compared to matters like child molestation and failed prophecy, i see this as the easiest to bring up, the easiest to substantiate, and the easiest to demonstrate long-term gross error in.

I left because they weren't nice people.
...Maybe I could some of their wrong doings, if they were just nice to everybody and say a prayer to Jehovah saying sorry about everything they've done wrong! And start afresh! :D
The UN thing is a big "ah ma!" (Do kids say "ah ma" in America [meaning they have done something wrong] or is that an Australian expression? I think it might be a Greek/Italian expression not sure...) -
