It sounds too similar to "awful eyes." :D
You really have to be careful on syllable stress!

I can't say I am in love with the word "awfulize."
WE got so many words in English that describe terrible events, why do we need another one?
It sounds pretty unoriginal word to me. The only thing different about it is that it's got -ize at the end. -

Why are beards so bad?
by bother_forever inwhats with the idelology behind jws that "bro's" with beards are undeserving of privledge and advacemet in their f**cked up org?
what jesus never had facial hair?
i remember hearing comments like " yes he's a lovely bro, but he'll not be used by the cong because he needs to shave his beard".

I guess, it's the middle class American white collar culture that Rutherford came from that DICTATORED that "clean shaven" only look.
BTW, I am offended by that term "clean shaven." They are just as dirty as the bearded man!
Beards are cool! The Hulkster had one! James Hetfield had one! Well... shorter beards.... it's all facial hair, you know. -

bother_forever,
I am gutted about this as much as you!
I saw a guy on Tempation (Sale of the Century) as one of the contestants. He had long hair, a beard and he was really big! He was a bikie guy.
(DON'T DRAW CONCLUSIONS!!! HE WAS SMART!! bUT DIDN'T WIN)
I was so glad to see someone on there with no "short back and sides."
...We are not all white collar workers you know! Some of use actually have to work! lol :) -

Sport and JWs!!!
by zagor injust wondering what your experiences are.
were you "encouraged" not to devote time to personal exercise, gym or sport in general?
i remember this one time co gave a talk how "we do not need sport" then he proceeded to explain how walking up the stairs in field service was exercise enough for our legs, then how we didn't need any stretching exercise as making gestures while explaining the bible verses would do the job, and so on.

lol.
There's more I'd like to say, but not right now... -

lol I did my own thing. Played football (rugby) when I was a wee little lad with my worldy "friends," but not very often though.
Played brandings and handball (not the pool one like in the olympics, the one with the concrete squares) in my street.
I always hanged out with worldy people! lol Never really thought about it that much before.
My mum figured that the cong was too far away and so were the JW's, so why not just hang around with them? -

Watchtower Blotch of Alpha and Omega interpretation
by Ticker innow to cover a point of a different nature but one i feel very important, a point in which the society has deliberatly tried to gloss over in their manipulating of scripture.
we see in rev.
1:7,8 a mention of the alpha and omega, the one who is, who was, and who is to come.

leolaia,
Point #5 is almost embarassing:
(5) At Revelation 22:13, the Alpha and Omega is also said to be “the first and the last,” which expression is applied to Jesus at Revelation 1:17, 18. Similarly, the expression “apostle” is applied both to Jesus Christ and to certain ones of his followers. But that does not prove that they are the same person or are of equal rank, does it? (Heb. 3:1)

Inquirer.
I don't agree with you that it's embarassing.
I don't see a problem with Jehovah and Jesus being the Alpha and the Omega. They were both at the beginning. Jehovah was RIGHT at the beginning. But Jesus was at the beginning of time concerning human affairs. He saw the first human, Adam. So certainly from that point of view he can be alpha and omega. -

I will re-read what you said though.
I mean. I don't want to be like the Watchtower and ignore people or shun people. All you people can believe what you like. -

I am not yet convinced. Sorry. Nor do I think I ever will be.
I think I am sick and tired of debating trinity and all that. I just wanted to post what I believe makes sense. It's not only JW's who believe in that, because they quoted other people.
We'll have to agree to disagree.
It's hard to explain your beliefs when the vast majority of Christians who believe in something very strongly when you don't yourself... :(
Doesn't mean you've "hit me" with good points like as if it's something I can't explain. I think I am a bit tired of trinitarian debates...
