What would you have done?
by defd inwhat would you have done back in the 1st century when jesus came on the earthly stage and started christianity.
would you have became his follower?
how about after he left the earth and christianity began to spread by means of the apostles, would you have been involved in the many congregations that were started throughout the area?

Go Terry! Ditto! You are really helping this bloke! Please don't let him fall for any hormonal traps!
Why can't she accept the way YOU are? Why is it us blokes always have to please women but never the other way round? that's the way it seems sometimes anyway.
Lostsouls,...I like chicks too, but not JW ones! You have to start thinking they are intangible! -

remember apostates holding signs outside the convention?
by in a new york bethel minute ini remember there was one that used to go to my hall.
he would say hi to my dad and my dad would ignore him.
i know now that my father feels bad for that, but at the same time he had no choice.

To Born-Again, Wait a second! We are talking about JW's! They control every facet of your life. And if you take blood, it's like your disfelloweshipped. Shun you. Go away sort of thing.... They make people feel guilty like as if they killed 10 million people or something...

I largely agree with Junction Guy.
These people obviously picket becase they are upset. Take advantage of the (Christian) Freedom's we have in a democratic society! If that's the way you feel then go for it!
Jesus was a divine being -- he just walks on water... Why would he need to picket! I think, in a way, those people near the Roman court that wanted Jesus to be killed were picketing... protesting... whatever you call it! I guess picketing is more of making a statement though. Protest can often lead to violence. -

How come in Australia there's no picketers? Purely because of population? Culture? Americans/Canadians tend to speak out more than Australians/English people, more quieter overall. Just an observation. Just don't know, just trying to answer it as I post it... Maybe because I haven't lived in Sydney long enough! But hey, I remember not living in Sydney and we had to travel to western Sydney to those special convention days!

JW Literature-why not public?
by AllAlongTheWatchtower inthis might be old hat to those of you with more experience in the wts/witness life, but it struck me as very odd, perhaps even a bit sinister.
i started coming here so i could find out just what my wife was getting herself into.
on my first day here, i learned about the blood doctrine, and that was enough to convince me.

oldflame:
They proceeded to tell me that any religion that takes away from the true diety of Christ are not sold in Christian book stores. Sounded pretty good to me and made perfect sense. After all I was in a Christian book store and knowing full well that they are not christians, I left in agreement and was glad to see that true christians were being protected in those book stores. So that might be why you could not find the book you were looking for.
I think these Christian bookstores are just discriminating against Jehovah's Witnesses! Can't have your own point of view! No, no, everyone must either have the sign of the cross or denounce Catholicism! You can't buy "niche books."
Why is it that as a pro-NWT person, I can also pick up a protestant NRSV and a Catholic NAB and enjoy just as much? I see Catholic teachings in the appendix of the NAB and don't think it's wrong and somehow I should correct them. Same with the NWT, it has teachings in the appendix that I don't agree with. I just think it's there beliefs. Everyone has got a hidden agenda, including JW's.
I am sure the Greek scholar Jason BeDuhn (who wrote Truth in Translation), who like me likes the NWT and other Bibles would not like this bias, discriminating reasoning!
It's like what Ray says [paraprased]"everyone has a right to know about what happens in the WTS."
