  i am one confused dude and need serious therapy.

  Welcome to the board Race. There is no time frame for elders to convine a JC for the common publisher. It's only if an ELDER can hide his own sins for several years. He will not lose his position or privileges.

  It use to be that marriage to a non-JW resulted in a DF that is not the case today. The elders will counsel you on the problems associating with yokeing with an un-believer. If you invite them into your home, you are only playing their game with their rules. You cannot win. Please please, just thank them for showing concern but state that you have your life and sprituality under control. They will try but don't let them get into a debate about authority of the elders or the Faithful and Discreet Slave (FDS) over you. Good Luck and hope you stick around.

  Although my user name could indicate that we are in similar circumstances, my thread snapped almost a year ago. I enjoyed reading your story and could see myself at several points that you have gone through. This board is just part of a group of support that you can use. While you could never rant to an elder (he'd only tell you to wait on Jehovah anyway) you can rant here when you want to and we will listen. We will provide support to keep you emotionally balanced.

  You questioned where you go now. Boy I was there. Looking back on some of my earlier posts, I make a comment about being on a path (WT) couldn't see where it was going but scared to go back. Then a wise poster said which I will paraphrase for you. Make your own path. You will experience emotional and spiritual indecisiveness. This is normal because you have never been taught how to deal with making a personal decision before. As time goes on you will balance out and things will be seen for what they really are.

  Take your time but find others in your area that are faders. I associate with faders, DA and DF'd persons. I know the circumstances regarding their leaving and it wasn't for what the elders want me to believe. Even if you find someone who is DF'd, they might still love Jehovah and that could be important to you. There is a difference between loving Jehovah and loving the organization. They are not the same. Good Luck and remember. We are here.

  situation ugly.

  long story short - adult children have refused contact with df'd father for a few years.

  (except for the initial obligatory hate letter full of references to satan and some disgusting name calling).

  I'm for the disinheiritance thing. Write up a formal letter of intent. State that until these children come to their senses and stop associating with Jehovah's Witnesses, there will be NO financial assistance nor will upon death of parents will any assets be divided out to them. All property will be sold outright and any profits resulting from said sale will be donated to (pick favorite charity).

  Since witnesses like to add scripture to their letters (to add some form of validation) you do the same. I suggest Matthew 5:12 Rejoice and leap for joy, since YOUR reward is great in the heavens. and James 1:2 Consider it all joy my brothers, when you meet with various trials.

  If they want to be witnesses, then with this letter you will be "Helping" them become better witnesses.

  hi all... a while back someone posted a 1970's meeting with the elders.

  it was a brother who was a elder and his wife who had taped their meeting and in the end read their disassociation letter.

  Thanks for your timely review. I misread your advise to type in 'loyalty'. I typed in loyal and just had a handful of results. I then tried

  "loyal* to christ". It brought up both loyal and loyalty. A grand total of 14 results. Thanks again. Hope to see you soon.
