They can still hide behind the religion curtain. Once they step outside of that then the Government can do something.

TMS Ratio Poll
by inbyathread inwould like some feedback on this.
how many publishers are in your congregation and of those how many are in the theocratic ministry school?

That is what I'm attempting to find out. There are many in my congregation who for reasons only known to them have left the school. Unwilling to teach WT Doctrine as fact, hypocrisy, ect. (Of course they don't tell the School Overseer that) More condemnation than commendation. We are close to or below 50% of publishers as students.

Was The Govering Body Decieved Into Dividing Up The Organization?
by frankiespeakin inwhat if the legal advice that the governing body got to divide up into all those diferent organizations was actually a very clever sceem to take way control from the governing body,, and they fell for it hook line and sinker???
anybody who has been in the legal department at bethel, for just a short time must realize the gb are seriously full of shit.
that's why i think either for selfish reasons or just plane disgust,, some individual or perhaps several individuals could easily play on the fears of the governing body to manipulate them to make huge mistakes, like dividing up into all these different organizations.

One group handles the congregations, another writing, another publishing and printing, another the service department, etc... each cannot survive without the others.
But none can survive without the financial and "voluntary" labor that the 6 million distributors provide. No lawyer will be able to force us to hand over our cash and muscle once all understand the deception that really took place.
They have cash reserves from the recent sale of their NY buildings, but it won't last for long. Settlement and hush payments will take much of it. As soon as these settlement cases are brought to light. Then the faithful will see where their money is going and they too will depart quickly along with their money. The WT along with Babylon the Great is drying up.

Do You Think Pink?
by prophecor inwhy are men petrified of the color pink?
would you, as a man, ever wear anything pink, say a pink polo shirt, with a pair of faded blue jeans?
although a bit out of the ordinary for most men, the artist in me ask, what is it with the very sexist colour of pink?

I wore pink underwear for a while.
But that was because I did the laundry and a RED robe got in the washer with the whites.
I learned that lesson. (I laugh now)

JOB's children celebrating birthdays
by eye 23 incan anyone give me their view on why the bible says that after job's children celebrated 'their day' he went out and made sacrafices to god in case they had sinned and cursed god in their hearts ?.
the first part is a great talking part especially regarding job being a rightous man but the latter tends to counter act it some how by impling that job thoughts were that birthdays were wrong, in gods eyes.
especially as he did this after every birthday, so i can't really debate that it was one off event that might have encured some wrong doing at one particular party........if you understand what i mean.. thanks for any iput.

Can't hold my tongue on this one. One more point to show that this was a birthday celebration.
The WT is very good at using two other birthday celebrations and the aftermath of those (people died) as a reason for not celebrating birthdays. OK, well let's use Job's children as the third example. What happened to Job's children? Several verses down (18) shows what happened to them. Three times for emphisis.

I now consider myself to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses
by jaffacake insix months ago i knew nothing about the watchtowe religion.
i had not read my bible for more than 25 years, and had gradually drifted between atheism and agnosticism, without giving any thought to what those terms meant.
then my lifelong friends started studying with jws.

You are correct in that Jehovah's Christian Witnesses are seperate but I do not know how they are associated with Christendom. There is a possiblility that they are a renamed group of the International Bible Students so there are some doctrinal differences.

Some confusion here. Really there are Two (2) groups.
1. Jehovah's Witnesses (Also known as the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and
2. Jehovah's Christian Witnesses.
These two groups are not the same and have different teachings. Note: #2 created their name so as to be listed above #1 in the phone book. So visiting brothers or ones moving into a new area just might call the first number instead and are caught in a trap.

We had three piano players in our congregation. They switched meetings so that no one got burnt out. The Nov. 1976 Kingdom Ministry had something to say about the use of piano or taped music.
Question Box
Is it proper that the body of elders arrange for musical accompaniment for congregational singing other than using the Society's recordings?
This is a matter for decision by the body of elders. Accompaniment for singing does help the congregation to sing well. Some congregations may not have record players to use in playing the Society's recordings. Where qualified persons with musical talent are available, many congregations prefer to have piano or other instrumental accompaniment. It would not be good to try to use someone who does not really know how to play an instrument well.
When recordings are used, care should be used to replace worn-out or damaged records, thus maintaining the high standard of the meetings that should be found in the congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Return to comments:
We had a CO who wanted us to use the tapes but our BOE turned him down each time. The congregation sang well with the piano, it was part of their worship, why take that away. When illness prevented a piano player to play and the tapes were substituted, the singing was very subdued. Some congregations in other countries don't even have electricity. They sing without the tapes, either on their own or with instruments.
I agree with an earlier poster that believes that this is jus a way to increase WT profits by having congregations buy updated music formats.
