Terry is right about the moral issue at play here. If you think the JWs disfellowshipping & shunning rules are morally right, then do nothing and let them carry on as always.

What do JWs do when the WT publications don't provide the research for them to answer their question? I have challenged JWs to look up in the publications the reason why it is wrong for Jews to accept blood transfusions. None have come back with an answer, as the publications have never even mentioned one time the public facts that Jews accept blood transfusions, let alone try to prove that the Jews are wrong. An analysis of the reasons why Jews have decided that blood transfusions don't violate any of their religious laws would blow the entire WT no-blood dogma right out of the water. This can't be allowed to happen in a KH.

You act as if NOTHING has changed.
That is what flummoxed the JWs at my old KH- I just acted like normal- it drove my wife batty, too. I was supposed to act like an untouchable and step to the other side of the street when I saw JWs coming my way- stay out of their aisle in the supermarket. They were the ones who had to get out of my way, they had to leave the supermarket, if they didn't want me to say, hello, to them. It takes a willing victim for shunning to work-
However, going to the KH was another story- I knew their public invitation was only conditional , if I played by their rules- anything else would have caused them to call the police-

by dropoffyourkeylee inrecently there was quite a buzz at the local hall of people applying to be a specially approved candidate to attend an international convention overseas.
one person i knew applied to go to the assembly next year in south africa.
she was elated to find she and her daughter-in-law were accepted for the south africa site.

Distrust and paranoia among faders
by cedars inhi guys.
i'm interested in knowing whether any other faders out there ever find themselves feeling a little paranoid about establishing contact with other faders or former jws, just in case the unthinkable happens and things turn sour.. personally, i'm now fairly comfortable with the idea that i will be disfellowshipped or disassociated within the next year or so.
i see it as inevitable, and an essential transition in order to do what i want to do with my life.

I was reading the comments to the story on my IPhone this afernoon and they were like 10 to one in agreement with the story. Many people who commented were former JWs or had been raised as JWs and they all told their tale of how the JWs ruined their childhood and careers- When I looked awhile ago the comments seemed to have disappeared.
That said, I found her story painted a believable carricature of the JWs that, shall we say, does not help their recruiting efforts.
