A man has two things he needs to protect ; his word and his honor. We used to have words for children who were fathered without the benefit of his father's name in marriage. It has nothing to do with her and everything to do with your character. I think this is why we loath the WT leaders so much- they have neither.

when i was a bible believer, i accepted the flood.
the frozen mammoths and seashells on mountaintops were "evidence", but the only needed proof was simply that the bible said so.
as a christian, do you believe the flood story?.
I agree on a regional flood scenario. A global flood- NO.
40 days of rain would have melted all the ice in Greenland and Antarctica, but dated ice core borings going back several hundred thousand years disprove that idea. We also have lakes in arctic regions which have unbroken layers of seasonal spring thaw river sedimentation that can be dated back 10-15,000 years- just like the rings on a tree. I wrote a Christian who maintains a pro- Noah's flood website, has videos and does the talk circuit at churches why his website doesn't disprove these two arguements. I'm still waiting for his rebuttal letter.

Most are under control of the WT rules and since the WT has a closed door policy when it comes to disclosure of finances and access to managers/mindcontrollers, they operate like a cult in my view. A few of it's members still have an independently functioning brain.

the president said in the state of the union that the us must wean itself off imported oil/energy - this has to be positive and no matter what ones politics all must agree with this surely?
By the end of this year enough money will have been spent on the war in Iraq to build a wind farm in the Dakotas that would supply electricty for 50% of the homes in the USA. If Bush had started this project instead of helping his Texas oil buddies ,the price of oil would be much, much lower today. Instead of a big war deficit , our nation would have a supply of low cost , clean and zero emission renewable energy.
Most of our leaders in the US have all been co-opted by big oil. Congress has had 30 years to prepare for the end of the "oil age" and they have done nothing for our Nation.

in a move not surprising to ex members of the pervasive sect known as jehovahs witnesses, the watchtower bible and tract society issued a censorship request to google -- the worlds largest internet search software company.
although it was a privately issued request, jwd news has obtained a copy of the formal request issued monday from one of watchtowers dissident factory workers.

WT might ask it's members to install a special filter program on it's home computers to protect the teenagers in the family. The WT safe search software would keep an up to date special database of "unapproved" websites IP adresses and make sure your home computer blocks these sites. Any one who doesn't comply would be "marked" just like if they refuse to have the elders sign their no-blood-transfusion card.-
Better yet, the Wt will release some CD that when played on the JW's computer will install a spyware program that will rat out the JW home if they visit non-approved apostate websites- WOW, won't that be fun for the elders!

this caught my eyes and reminded me when as a ministerial servant that we had to go into the back room for instructions from the po (not very clever man), he tried his best to explain to us ms and elders about the wearing of beards in the congregation.
he must have gone on and on for 30 minutes about not having beards, but kept impressing that this was not a rule, but beards should not be worn, but its not a rule, just dont expect to have any privileges if you grow one on your face and wear it (sounds like you wear it like a tie he he) but we are not making it a rule, just dont wear a beard.
Back in the winter of 1983 I was working in Oswego, NY on a nuclear powerhouse project. My JW family stayed in Florida. After a couple months I came home for a week of R&R with a nice beard I had grown. It caused a big shock at the KH. However, I had several servants approach me and admit that they wished they could grow a beard ,too.
I had many compliments from sisters - they liked my beard, too. I had never seen a brother in good standing with a beard in my 16 years with them. They can't allow any personal freedom to creep in to their JW lives.

there's something which has crossed my mind too often, after doing some research, meeting people myself- i have become more convinced that speaking in tongues was mis interpretered wrongly by the pentecostals.
i would be interested to hear jw's view of speaking in tongues and why jehovah witness classify them as one of the christodom.
which of their any of their customs/traditions which bible doesnt support, i am just trying to make myself aware, with help if possible.. clarification would be much appreciated

My second wife was a Pentecostal. It always struck me as strange that someone would get up in her church and speak in tongues for 1 minute, then another church member would get up to interpret and spend a long 5 minutes telling us what the other person had said. It never made any sense to me.

about rev:7 discussing the 1980 w.t which is full of lies about naos and hieron.. i'm going to bring this w.t up but i know the elders will mention the scriptures in psalms 37 and isaiah to prove that there is an earthly paradise.. is there a good logical way to refute these scriptures?.
