Congratulations, Purza. The first time I did this, I was shaking in my shoes. But it felt soooo damn good afterwards!

so i went to a birthday party today .
as we were sitting there i noticed a family member of mine walk in who just happens to be a dub -- and a regular pioneer at that.
she had three other dub friends with her and i knew them all.
Congratulations, Purza. The first time I did this, I was shaking in my shoes. But it felt soooo damn good afterwards!

can someone explain to me why a witness can't go and buy a lottery ticket for himself, but can keep a ticket they find on the ground or keep a ticket they receive as a gift from a worldly person.. that's the explaination the witnesses gave me when i joined many years ago.. if it's a sin to play lotto, why can they accept a ticket as a gift or keep one they could find?.
Apparently, there's nothing wrong with losing a hundred grand in the stock market, but if I go and spend $1.00 on a lottery ticket, then I'm a greedy materialistic bitch who's one short step away from worshipping Satan........or whoever the "God of Good Luck" is supposed to be.Mary,
You are too funny. I lost tonight. How'd everyone else do?

for many, religion is the root of terrorism and war.
since the beggining of creation or evolution, mankind is at war not only for religious reasons, but economical ones too.
oil is a good example.
All those things would hurt religion but they have nothing to do with the UN.
Yeah, I know. That's why I said that I didn't think the UN had the power. I was offering suggestions on what might restrict religion or hurt it, not that the UN would be able to do those things.
Guess I should'a been more clear...

we're getting ready for vacation so i'm doing that odd-ball stuff that needs to be done.
i'm walking into the bedroom with my suitcase, catch it on the doorframe, and it puches me in the gut and knocks me to the floor.
my gut and ribs are still sore 3 hours later!
Well, I never applied for SSI or Disability because my symptoms are more embarrasing than really debilitating just yet. My sis in ore has it much worse, and I expect that as I get older, I may have much more serious issues. For me, it's the Dizzy Dame syndrome, not knowing where my body (on some days my mind as well) is at so that I bump into things (especially my bum, damn-it), pain in my shoulders, knees, and neck. Some in my hands but I can still hold a full coffee mug so I'm okay!
One thing that is a real pain though is my reaction to mosquito bites or any other insect bite, mostly though the mosquitos. I get bit and I will end up with a ugly red lump that is really hot. It usually is the size of a half of a softball, and takes about a week to subside and will usually leave a scar.
Something that has helped me is Guifenicin (sp?), especially to keep my lungs clear at night so that I don't wake up in the night gasping for air. (darth vader moments). Also seems to help with the pain. Have you tried it?

I don't believe that the UN has the power to ban religion. However, it could be wounded pretty badly by:
Removing Tax exempt status from all religions worldwide.
Requiring that churches that pay at least at the minimum wage for all those who perform work for the church.
Making churches responsible for 100% of the cost of all medical and psychological assistance to everyone whom they have driven to need it.
Enforce the alienation of affection clause that makes the church responsible for damages inflicted on members who wish to leave.
Impose mandatory reporting laws on all religious officials in the areas of child abuse, rape, assault and battery, and any other conduct that the governments deem to be criminal.
Require degrees from accredited colleges before one can claim to be a minister of God from a mainstream college and that the degree must only be awarded after the minister is fully aware of all religious doctrine.
Require that if any student in a government school is taught from one religion, they must be taught all opinions.
Just a couple ideas...

there has to be tremendous benifit to be able to do so.
women are only supposed to have opinions that parrot their husbands or elders, etc. I wasn't very good with that.
Me neither. Nor did I like being told that my jw ex was my 'husbandly owner'. <kaak>

Don't know that I want my hubby going all squishy on me, frankie. Don't ever want him to be so macho that he does not allow a more sensitive view to enter his mind for fear of being a 'girlie man', either. <My apologies to the Govenator>
I guess a happy medium is good, and people can reach a happy medium by guageing the reactions either sex has to their words/actions. If they have a brain, they'll figure it out, if not, it does not matter if they are male or female, they won't get it.

I owe, I owe, so back to work I go,
To pay the feds,
and then the state,
I hate,
Tax time, I hate it...
<to be sung to, well you know the tune...>

remember this?.
you wake up early saturday morning feeling kinda nice and toasty.
looking at your partner you want to stay home and make out all day.
It was awfully boring, wasn't it? If basic missionary is the only form acceptable to God, then that's how all animals would do it too!
btw: is there anything in the bible on positions? I never found anything, tried too!
