Heavens, where do I begin? There are so many issues here it is difficult to know how to help. I'll just stick to a couple points, it may be harsh but as a mom who helped two teenage daughters through their teen years and into womanhood here is my advice.

This man is a lying, cheating, not true to his God so how in the world can you ever expect him to be faithful to you a mere human, run as fast as you can in the other direction, kind of guy.

Hit the books, get a career. At that point you'll likely meet a guy who values the wonderful smart beautiful woman you will grow to be in a few years and the two of you will have a chance at a healthy relationship that will last a lifetime and be a great place to raise children in.

Hoping you make the right decision, and mom and dad would love to guide you in this if you'll give them a chance.

Is there a difference between a "wrong expectation" and a "false prophecy"?

as many of you posters know by now that my mom has been a devout jw for 40 years and just cannot accept the fact that i am no longer a jw and feel that i am being deceived by apostates and will be destroyed at armaggeddon.

well the other day we had another knock down debate about "false prophecies" and the wts.

my mom insist that the wts are not false prophets but merely had many "wrong expectations" the same as other bible writers and disciples of christ.

The WTBTS is twisting the Nathan thing. His original advice to David was his own idea, he was corrected by God and that's why the switch in positions. It's a bogus example.

Sounds like your mom is a real firecracker! I love listening to really sharp older women, their viewpoints are many times quite poignant, and they can definitely yank the rug right out from under you and land you on your 'bum' when you least expect it. All I can say is that if she cares enough for you to take on an evil 'poztate', then hang in there! She needs you...

That being said, Euph is quite correct and I really like the points that BlackSwan brought up. I'll be buying the book as soon as I can find it.

major shock i know.. i called mom back and told her she better get her facts straight.

telling people that someone abandoned their own children is a very serious accusation.

that really pissed me off.

It's such a shame that everyone in the KH thinks she abandoned her kids.

This is exactly what my ex, with the help of the local congregation, tried to pull on me. I suppose that there are still some people that think that, but then, they still believe that the GB is the Faithful and Discreet Slave too, so their pretty damn gullible!

My daughter has a brain tumor :(

i am so terrified!.

#2 daughter came home from college on 12/18 with a violent headache, nausea, neck pain and great fatigue.

we took her to the dr. on the 20 and again on the 21st as she had kept nothing down for 3 days.
