this site was recommended to me by someone on another ex-jw site i began frequenting recently.
anyway, i am an ex-jw who has been disfellowshipped for about 7 years now.
i was raised as a jw from the age of 4, didnt take to it until i was befriended by a pioneer who was an elder's wife, and she began a bible study with me because my mom ddnt have time to have bible studies with all of my siblings and me, there are 10 of us.

found this interesting article online.
if it is correct, and please point me in the right direction here, the end paragraph seems to indicate that if the shiite population win the election in iraq it would serve to tighten the bond between iraq and iran.. do you feel that a tighter bond with iran is good for the plan to bring democracy to the region?
wouldn't it set up more problems?.

a guy is driving around and he sees a house with a sign in front saying "talking dog for sale.".
he rings the bell, and the owner tells him the dog is in the backyard.
the guy goes into the backyard and sees a labrador retriever sitting there.. .

for going to my kid's wedding.
he was told he was not "serious", had no "self-control" and "did not work well with the body".
These people gave 40 or 50 yrs. of their life and for what?? NOTHING!
This is so sad, Minimus. Sorry to hear it. Do you think that he will begin researching the society now?

most congregations have about 80 to 120 people.
out of that, how many could you consider being a "real friends"?
personally, not one of them was a "real friend".
So, as it turns out, I really had no friends as I thought. Their friendship was conditional to my worship in good standing.
Pretty much sums it up. There were those who I was genuinly surprised when they abandoned me in favor of a group of people whom they always badmouthed. However, their fear of being disfellowshipped for continuing to associate with me was stronger than their friendship with me. I grew up with these people.
Same held true for my family. They would grumble and complain about the 'troof', but still went along with it. Never could figure that one out.

the cryptic words of 1 cor 15:29 have ellicited much discussion through the years.
what did the writer mean, "baptism of the dead"?
the answer may be locked up in the controversy over who wrote those words and when.
Isn't this a practice of the Mormons'?
yes
.
i was doing some research for a novel i'm writing, and came across this article.
while i pride myself on being open minded, this one is just a bit over the edge without proof.. http://www.reptilianagenda.com/exp/e122299a.shtml.
