This is still a man's world, honey. PS. If you're going to die lonely, it's better to die lonely with money.

Do you expect the man in the marriage to be strong.
by free2beme inmy mother-in-law had surgery recently and when ever she does go through medical issues, it brings up something i wonder about.
you see, i think the man or husband, in the relationship needs to be strong at those moments.
to be the person who people can look to for updated information, perhaps to be the pillar of strength to keep everyone calm in a rough situation and so on.

I've had a theory about women being, you know, assets. You either are worth something intrinsically or you're capable of producing something intrinsically. But in the end, it belongs to me, in exchange for love. It's kind of like on the farm. When the wife went and sold eggs in town, the money wasn't hers. It belonged to the farm. Nowadays, women have jobs and they think the money is theirs. Hogwash. And don't forget, you need to be able to do the dirty work and be beautiful doing it. If not interested, don't PM.

I agree, women just don't know when to quit. I was always attracted to strong women. They have an inner strength that makes most men, if they'll admit it, kind of whimpy. And you know what they say about great men and great women behind them. The only thing most of us are good for is making $$$.

Bishop warns that Muslims who convert risk being killed
Jamie Doward, home affairs editor The Observer
Sunday September 16, 2007
http://observer.guardian.co.uk/uk_news/story/0,,2170160,00.html
One of the Church of England's most senior bishops is warning that people will die unless Muslim leaders in Britain speak out in defence of the right to change faith.
Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester, whose father converted from Islam to Christianity in Pakistan, says he is looking to Muslim leaders in Britain to 'uphold basic civil liberties, including the right for people to believe what they wish to believe and to even change their beliefs if they wish to do so'.
Some Islamic texts brand Muslims who convert to other faiths as 'apostates' and call for them to be punished. Seven of the world's 57 Islamic states - including Iran - impose the death penalty for conversion. -

1Cor 1:26-29,2:3-5 "For consider your calling, brethren, that there were not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble; 27but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, 28and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, 29so that no man may boast before God........3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God."

This is the bottom line. Saying something is "Bible-based" doesn't make it true.

The WTS. a modern false prophet that wants devotion, dedication and money
by Homerovah the Almighty inthere is a fairly well done video on you tube that goes through most of the history of the jws i thought i would post it in case some of you haven't seen it yet.
it's in two parts and both are worth watching here's part one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-40ymwfg9sq.
and here is part two http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtpotsd8ml8 i kind of thought the end of part two was a little dodgy, but for most part the video is thought provoking.. it kind of leaves me the impression of what a power playing and opportunistic role playing game that religion can offer if your into it enough.

Wanting devotion, dedication and money sounds a lot like the medical/legal professions

We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much , and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and
less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it
doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
So how did the folks in YOUR congregation react to this week's KM?
by Dead Man Joaquin inyou know, the one where independent bible research is forbidden, er, discouraged.. .
did anybody actually have the balls to say, "the society does not say such activities are forbidden or discouraged, just not endorsed?
" (nudge, nudge, wink, wink).

I wonder which will collapse 1st and have their sins publicly revealed, Big Babylon(catholic church)or little Babylon(WT)? Maybe they'll go down together. Both are men of sin and mirror one another. It's one thing for the jw's to condemn all other religions for being infected with doctrines from Babylon. It's quite another thing that da Judge would change Russell's writings and establish a borg that mirrors the original apostate church. "In this century the polity of the Church was quietly organized. There was an organized fellowship(5 meetings a week) among the members; bishops(CO's, DO's, PO's) had become influential, not in society, but among the Christians; dioceses and parishes(KH's) were established; there was a distinction between city and rural bishops; delegates of churches assembled to discuss points of faith or suppress nascent heresies(JC's); the diocesan system was developed, and ecclesiastical centralization commenced; deacons began to be reckoned among the higher clergy; the weapons of excommunication(DF'g) were forged; missionary efforts were carried on; the festivals of the church were created; Gnosticism was embraced by many leading minds; catechetical schools(TMS's) taught the faith systematically; the formulas of baptism and the sacraments became of great importance; and monachism became popular. The[False] Church was thus laying the foundation of its future polity and power." VOL II p285
