You made the mistake of focusing on Men, rather than God; there will ALWAYS be Pretenders waiting to harm in EVERY religion-until the Day of God's anger!

Actually, you can find everything you need to disprove Jehovah's Witnesses as a religion by looking only at their teachings about false religion, only apply the teachings to them. You have to look at the men teaching you about God, just as the bible has always warned people to do. If you don't, aren't you disobeying scripture?

I doubt anyone would debate that God wouldn't use dishonesty as a tactic to promote, or even protect "The Truth" or people in it, but it's there in the religious group you are defending, over and over, since the whole thing began. Can you follow the Bible's advice and keep searching, using the intellect you were given, or will you always defer to people who CLAIM they know more than you do? Maybe they do know more than you about a lot of things, but that's your own fault, it's all out there for you to find.

I remember watching these threads and eventually participating in them back in the day. It's like clockwork, an apologist pops up thinking he's ready to defend "The Truth" and says so, then all these people who are very much more educated in the information and have the ABILITY to have a pleasant, intelligent and HELPFUL debate, become something that would drive any reasonable person right back to the same thing we all say we would do anything to help someone get out of.

I'm as guilty of doing it as much as anyone at one point in my trip out. This guy shows up because he has questions. The answers he was giving were not his, they were given to him, and we all know this is a FACT. He suffers from everything we suffered from. He experiences cognitive dissonance. He is suffering from the effects of mind control. He is here posting because he need help whether he knows it or not. When peoples minds are changing the programing kicks in, they become argumentative and have to grasp for anything to support their beliefs, even if it's lashing out. That's the time when change happens, but not if you kick the puppy.

I am where I am as far as recovery because people were and are patient with me. It works. We were all this guy as some point, or most of us were. Try to remember what it was like and imagine this is a person you would call brother and mean it. What bad can come of that?

i read a report in a science mag recently,.

it said that males who ejaculated more than six times a week in their teens to late 20s were less likely to get prostate cancer.

godalmighty - does this mean that being good boys now puts us at risk??.

I try not to put too much personal info on there, as in exactly what I'm doing or who with or when, etc. But for me it's more of an e-mail type tool, most of my conversations are in real messages.

I wouldn't delete someone, but I have deleted news feeds only from some because of the crap I get about farms or what God wants me to do or whatever other fake life garbage flows from whoever.

I don't understand the farm thing, not at all. Or the mafia, or whatever else. But I don't delete people unless they really push the button themselves.

How are you starting the year? Doin something cool? Way different than when you were a dub?

i'm good at the pity party, can have fantastic events of this because i'm the guy that has to remind himself everything is getting better.. i was in a good one for a few weeks lately, but then i realized i don't have much to be sad about.

compare to where i was 6 years ago, my life is far better than i ever could have imagined.

tomorrow morning i'll be getting on a flight to go work for mtv.

Tomorrow morning I'll be getting on a flight to go work for MTV. I would never have dared even dream of being on that flight when I was a witness. My paradise now will be when I own my home sitting in the middle of the mountains and sit on the porch with hot chocolate or coffee, and breathe in the peace.

How far have you gone towards being happy since you have been out, mentally? What is your paradise now?

Christian subject I don't understand, can anyone explain?

so tonight i was reading about conspiracy theories and new world orders and how obama is the antichrist, so on and so forth, so my questions that i can't figure out are these:.

if "the antichrist" exists, and just for the sake of argument, obama was he, shouldn't all the christians have voted for him?

Like I haven't read the Bible. I'm not talking about facts, (the very definition of FACT and the definition of FAITH cancel each other out) and I definitely know the information in the Black Book through and through, the point is the beliefs, specifically the antichrist and how people view the subject as well as the reaction of some who personally believe he is it.

You can read the Bible until you can't see but it wont tell you anything about people's interpretation of it. Like reading the New World Translation would tell you what witnesses believe.

Anyone...anyone...? I don't want to debate, I'm trying to understand the reasoning in this scenario. I won't re-ask the question again, it's in the first post.

I like to read...a lot. So tonight I was reading about conspiracy theories and new world orders and how Obama is the antichrist, so on and so forth, so my questions that I can't figure out are these:

If "the antichrist" exists, and just for the sake of argument, Obama was he, shouldn't all the Christians have voted for him? My reasoning is, if the antichrist is to set in motion fulfillment of scripture, and actually be involved in the start of the events that change the world into "God's Way", shouldn't Christians support this? Wouldn't it make sense that if God's judgement is to be executed and the righteous people were to be taken off to heaven or live on paradise, the discovery of the individual who could speed it all up would be a good thing?

I just want to understand how these beliefs work, if the preacher or whoever on Sunday is blasting people for voting for the antichrist, isn't that the same as saying he doesn't want "God's will" to be done as it is described in scripture?

i think if they do they will have to make many revisions now that information is so prevalent on the internet.

and with all that is known about dna and how it proves darwin was right i don't see how they could.

but i guess you can never put nothing past the wt and it's crack smoking writers to dig up something ridiculous to blur the lines of reality for the friends, for sure its got to be way harder to write such a book today and keep a straight face..

A forum like this has people from so many different cultures you're bound to find someone to disagree with the statement that sugar is actually sweet. If you don't say something like this in your statement, people don't know you are looking for empathy rather than a discussion of the moral right to kill someone as penalty for being a sexual predator.

Sorry for your pain from this event, I understand it more than most might.
