  I'm giving plasma tomorrow!!

  well actually i'm giving the whole bit, plasma, platelets, while/red cells...for the first time and i'm very excited!

  sounds very massochistic, but it's not for the love of pain, it's just that it's taken me so long to become mentally ofe' with it.

  i've had a mental block about it for so long, but have gradually enabled myslef to overcome it by educating myself more fully on the subject.

  Thats great Blondie:)...I'll see how I go tomorrow, if all goes well I'll put myself on a regular donation schedule. I'm quite excited about finding out for the first time what blood type I am, nothing too unusual I hope? Like green frogs blood;)

  I'm guessing Blondie that you're either nocturnal, have a touch of insomnia, or have just worked out that the best threads start popping up around this time?

  My eyes are just about hanging out of my heads, and I'm starting to leave out whole words from sentences, must be just about time to sign off I think.

  I GOT A JOB!!

  i don't know how many of you knew this, but i've been looking for a job.

  i submitted an app to a local burger joint, and one to a really good chicken place called zaxby's.

  i had an interview yesterday at the burger place.

The history of bloody transfusions is pretty sordid, and the capitalists who have made tones of money at the expense of the health of others makes me scoff, but the process has come a long way over that time. I'm not even sure that I feel donating blood is a part of one's civil duty, who knows I might not even do it again after this. For me it's just the satisfaction that I've overcome the dodgey indoctrinated view that I once had, and that feels pretty darn good, even if needles don't frog

  post script: I signed up last week for the organ doner registry too, took me ages to overcome my personal view of the body to be comfortable to sign up:)

  do you guys do tofu, cause I don't do chickens;) sounds like you intimidated the mgr haha. I love interviews, I'm addicted to em! There's this real thrill of the chase, and some people are just way too easy to impress. Problem is I get so caught up in convincing them I'm right for the job, then they offer me the job, and then I'm not sure if I even want the job, or can even do the job! Strange vice I know...

  i had a long talk with an elder i know very well this morning.

  we had a talk about the religion changes, like the 1975 thing etc.

  he agrees to me that the gb are not let only by holy spirit, maybe only that has a use for this organisation.

  Doesn't sound like you can provide him with any new information that he isn't already aware of, there may be an angle though that you've thought of that he hasn't. Seems to me that a reasonably free thinking man would have made the decision to leave earlier if he'd wanted to. If he is reasonably moderate in his beliefs, and he offers a balanced perspective to others, then perhaps he is better in the org than he is out. I think at times we feel so passionately and strongly about our anti-jw position that it becomes a bit of a game and a challenge to get others out, but often it's just the right word said at the right time, not just some vigilante exercise to give ourselves the satisfaction.

  Update on Dad

  i posted recently asking for support (which i got tons of - thanks) as dad was going to have an operation to remove a cancerous polyp in the colon.

  well, last weekend he got rung up and told to get to the hospital fast - they had found a clot in a vein in the chest.

  as the clots were caused by the polyp they decided to operate last sunday.

  Hi Muse, wonderful news on your father, sounds like he's got plenty of fight left in him yet! It must have been a little strange being in contact with your ex-dub acquaintances again, don't know how I'd be in that situation. Good to hear that they treated you with the respect and dignity you deserve:)

  It's good too to know that the men "taking the lead" in the jw congo's have a heart after all with respects to their children. Children can certainly be a reality check for parents, especially those that have a mind of their own like those of us here:)

  You're a pro apostanator too, but I agree fully with euphemism, take it nice and slow on matters that affect her directly on her level. Remember it's taken you some time to develop the position you currently have, so don't expect to convert her in the one convo. Alls you can do is sow the seeds of doubt. She sounds a lil like me at that age, definite tendancy to rebel, so freak out and fully remove mysel from any tempting situation. As soon as she gets a taste of the "real life", she won't go back to the vommit:)) Good work matey. frog

  often, more so then not, my former witness friends have the habit of wondering why more people do not hear or know about things witnesses do in modern history.

  yet in time, from being on boards like this one and from knowing far more people that are not witnesses, then ones that are or were.

  the crazy acts of the early 1900's that gained public attention, were replaced with a more invisable conformed organization that really does very little to be noticed.

  So very true free2beme...this is how I consoled myself during the hardest times, when everyone I knew and loved was gone from me. They're only a small insignificant fraction of the worlds population. Not to downplay all of what so many of us have gone through, but the universe doesn't revolve around them, and I guess we shouldn't let the jw world revolve around and consume us any longer:) frog
