I think that the disillusionment that is experienced by ppl who have been duped by a religion that equates itself to God himself unfortunately results in rejection of God altogether in some cases. Kind of a "throwing the baby out with the bathwater" for lack of a better analogy. I think this essay helps keep things in perspective.

The Dilemma

What happens when an organization claiming to be the only ones who speak for God has its veil pulled back so that many, perhaps for the first time, see the fallible humanity behind the claim? For Jehovah's Witnesses who have come face to face with immorality amongst the leadership, favoritism for one person over another when dealing with sin, inconsistency in organizational policy or unscriptural doctrinal teachings, the effects can be devastating. Because the Watchtower Society demands from their followers unconditional affirmation that their organization is divinely directed by God in all they do, a Witness who sees otherwise is faced with living a lie or finding themselves outside the boundaries of the Watchtower.

How does a Witness view God when the organization loses its hold?

How does a Jehovah's Witness view God when they have seen the human nature of the Watchtower organization? It is not uncommon in this situation for a Witness to begin to doubt that there even is a God. For years or even decades these Witnesses have trusted an organization to reveal God to them. Their future hope for a new life in a better world has revolved around the activities and teachings of just one organization. They have been taught that to doubt the organization is tantamount to doubting God and so nagging doubts and questions not originating from the Society's approved questions at the bottom of the page of Watchtower material has been delegated to the back of their mind. However when a Witness is exposed to undeniable proof that the Watchtower is not the faithful, pure organization that they were led to believe it was, the questions and doubts that they have pushed aside now flood their mind. If the Watchtower is unfaithful, is God now himself unfaithful? If the Watchtower leadership has acted immorally or treated their followers with little respect does that mean that God no longer cares for truth or that he no longer loves the Witness? Sadly some have concluded that God is as changeable as the Watchtower Society itself, that he is unreachable or worse yet that he does not exist.

Where can they find faith?

Witnesses whose scarred faith survives their exit from the Watchtower organization can find faith and hope within the words of the Bible. God himself is not ignorant of organizations that seek to elevate themselves to the position of doorkeeper to God. He has given us warnings in scripture to counteract their claims. In Psalms 146:3, 4 he says "Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that day their plans come to nothing." God has emphatically said for us not to trust men for our salvation, yet the Watchtower says, "And while now the witness yet includes the invitation to come to Jehovah's organization for salvation..." How fast has JWD been growing?

there was a thread not too long ago about this board being 5 yrs old.. i am really curious as to how fast the membership and viewership to this board has been growing.

i think the rate of growth on this board is a good reflection of the rate of irrelevancy the wt has on it's current members since many who are here still seem to be associated with the org.

while they are posting here.. is there a chart or some kind of graph that shows the increase in membership/hits during the past 5 yrs?.

would they ever tell gb members they are are delusional for thinking they are god's sole channel on earth??

that's what these guys need isn't it a psychiatrist that is both skillful and brave enough to tell the gb and other higher ups that they are suffering from dellusions of being god's channel of communication.

I just have to comment on this because i think it's so funny. You have to be insane to be stumbled at such a petty thing. You also have to be insane to think other ppl would be stumbled at your name. I think Bethel should have employed more psychiatrists with other stumble-able names:

A hispanic Dr. named Jesus but would have to change his name to Hay-soos.

A middle eastern Dr. named Mohammed changed to Moe.

SPIRITUAL ISSUES

There are numerous Spiritual issues that confront the victim, and many of these issues

may be the most critical factors in the improvement and healing of the victim. However,

it has been hard for most people to separate religion from spirituality. One of the most

powerful tools of the Illuminati for controlling people are the various religious fronts that

they have created. The mainstream religious groups are but fronts to control people.

Within religion you will find controlling spirits, judging spirits, spirits of denial, spirits of

guilt and shame, and spirits of obesity. Not all obesity is from a spirit of obesity, but

obesity (gluttony) seems to be the sin that is used to substitute in for the other things that

are rejected as sin. God?s creative force works within the universe. We are meant to be

like God. He gave each of us some creativity. We can creatively take responsibility for

our own lives and our own walk with God and our own spiritual growth. God gave each

of us free will. Sad to say, but these important gifts, are often surrendered by religious

slaves to whatever organization controls them. They give up their creativity and free will.

They seem to think God wanted them to be a little puppet. The

puppet mentality likes black & white orders, and black & white thinking, because it

removes responsibility for the puppet?s actions away from the puppet. Again God made it

clear, He was going to make each person accountable. There is no one else who can

answer for you, when you face God. Religion can be one of the best covers to hide the

stench of trauma-based mind-control. Under the guise of religion, the pressure to look

good--to look like the organization?s "approved solution" conspires to cover up the truth,

real feelings, failure, and sin. Religion can be so stiffling it becomes a pressure cooker. In

order to make reality fit the religious mold a great deal energy is put into fantasy and

denial. A great deal is done in the name of God that has nothing to do with Him. A great

deal of how the Illuminati keep their slaves in place under their control is that they

overlay the deeper levels of mind-control with the absolute control over the front system

by one of their numerous religious denominations, such as the Catholic Church, the

Mormon Church, the Watchtower Society, many Pentecostal groups, authoritarian New

Age groups, and other religious groups too numerous to mention here. These groups

emotionally strip their victims, and create a dependence within their members upon their

church hierarchy. Christ came to set the captives free, and from his ministry it is clear

that many of the people he set free were captives to religion. One of the greatest spiritual

steps is to take back what God gave you and use it like He intended. Many mind-control

victims can?t move forward toward freedom, because the religious group that controls

them won?t give them their basic God-given freedoms, abilities, and free-will. The

Illuminati doesn?t have to depend solely upon the mind-control programming, their

religious groups will do the day to day work for them all in the name of God.
