Bringing Reproach Upon Jehovah

as jws we heard this over and over again.

we still see this phrase used time and time again on this board.

what, exactly does this mean to you and how do you think it is applied or should be applied?.

Genesis 4:26 At that time a start was made of calling on the name of Jehovah. Referring to this verse according WT some Hebrew scholars claim this should read a 'profaning' rather than 'calling'. Could a similar profaning be occurring in our day? Notice these real life experiences..

1. Wife being beaten for 15 years begging elders for help and being ignored=no reproach on Jehovah.
2. Wife deciding the hell with this and reporting his sorry ass to the cops = she has brought reproach on Jehovah.

An elder who molests a child and the elder body which helps coverup the molestation do not bring reproach upon Jehover.
Someone who reports the elder who molests a child to the authorities does bring reproach upon Jehover.

Hmm well you sure cant get it from the society. That old light is apostate garbage now! Also, when they hide older liturature like that it makes it difficult for members to see their history.

http://www.ctrussell.us contains all of Russells older works including the watchtower. You can find bits and pieces of old liturature scanned to the web. Sometimes you can purchase old stuff on ebay or old book stores

Heh On the NGO thing you could post on how great the society is for having joined, 'specially since the UN does so much good blabahhab The UN is honestly trying blablab. The UN will never be god's kingdom but at least they feed hungry ppl how wonderful that the society got involved with them blabblahblah.

That wouldnt violate any of their forum rules but might get some readers thinkin.

Time of the End .... for the WTBTS?

i know the wtbts have bastardised the criteria for 'the time of the end' and 1914, but as far as i am aware, it will still come while those that were alive in 1914 (not necessarily of an understanding age lol) are still alive, yes?

now, if we give them all until they are 110 years old (quite generous of me don't you think), that means in 20 years time we should see the wtbts disappear (or at least be in rapid decline) as all of the anointed are pushing up daisies, and this wicked world is still alive and kicking.

suppose we could see an increase in field service at old folks homes!

I can't get to grips with being shunned

my wife and i have been disassociated for about 2 months now.

every day in our small town we are being shunned by former friends.

one in particular annoyed me today.

That was exactly how I use to feel, because that?s what the Society tells us is one of the main reasons for DF.
This is the reason I sadly shunned my little sister for so many years, I hope she'll forgive me. Sad thing is now I hear she wants to come back. Shitty, evil, petty men in Brookly'n and I'm just as bad for going along with it.

Timekeeping

i have noticed timekeeping has got worse at meetings lately - always running over - some elders are very bad - but i notice it is always the publishers that get counseled not the elders and they are the worse culprits.

ministerial servants seem to be ok -the obviously want to progeress to elder and feel if they keep going over time they will not make elder.

i am told the worse person of all for timekeeping was freddie franz -anybody have personal experience of this?

Our PO will go to the back and take off his watch and hold it up, swinging it from side to side. We once had an elder that we remembered his his phone number (1522) by saying "his part is 15 minutes but he will take 22"

Our meetings rarley go over now, last night I kicked everyone out at the BS 15 mins early.
