  some people don't 'believe' there are such things as coincidences but whatever, what's the greatest of coincidences that has ever happened to you?

  i know there are mostly ex jw's on here.

  i just wondered how many of you are ex jws, left or df'd, how many are still in but have lost heart?.

  are there any jws on here who still believe its all the truth, go to meetings and trust the organisation?.

  Holly,

  I neither believe its the truth or trust the org in any way. I still go to all the meetings, still deliver all my parts, love and feel a sense of responsiblity to all my local bros and sis.

  I am not an athiest, but am struggling with the concept of the bible and judeo/christian god/belief/way of life.

  I'm sure I will never go to another formal religious institution, but my new concepts about life, death, and the nature of reality are still forming. Kinda sad for a 90somthing year old guy to be re-thinking his view of life.

  Wanting to leave JWs & Spouse problems

  are you trying to fade or otherwise distance yourself from the org, but have a spouse that is a loyal jw?

  on various posts i read about some that are staying in the org, or having a difficult time because their spouse doesn't understand the change.

  i'll begin...my wife doesn't understand how i can turn my back on all the good things i've gotten from the org.

  My wife sounds exactly like your wife. She also wonders, "If he has rejected his religion which was once a big part of his life, maybe he will reject me too"

  Fading is not an option for me right now since it would most assuredly bring the other men asking questions, "have you slown or become inactive because you've committed a sin? No? then why have you slown down?"

  i was thinking the other day, if i could choose to be an awesomely gifted basketball player, or an awesomely gifted singer/guitar player; which would it be?

  in the end i decided i'd rather be a rock star.

  better parties, and definitely more of a bad boy image.

  naw but seriously folks if I'd not been a dub, I'da probably started a rock band, become regionally successful with my mediocre gitar skills, and then asked to play rhythm by a worldwide successful/mediocre band like linkin park or sumthin. What? What?

  Publisher Numbers

  probably been discussed before but, we were just checking the monthly reports in this years km's and started looking back over the last few years to then getting out 1994/5 km's to find that basically in our country the number of publishers is about the same each year.

  a couple of peaks and troughs, but basically the same.

  "by their fruits you will recognize them" what about the lack of fruit?

  0% increase yet people are still coming in. That means people are leaving as fast as new ones are coming in. An objective look at the numbers also shows that ppl are coming in at a slower rate too.

  In 2004 USA netted 4573 new publishers over 2003, (no telling how many of these new were old pubs reactivated or dub kids)

  In 2003 USA netted 15482 new publishers over 2002

  In 2002 USA netted 27065 new publishers over 2001. The nature of evangalism means that the growth should be upward geometrically. New publishers make new publishers. This aint happening.

  Do you not see the great decline every year? with 47120 new publishers between 2002 and 04 we should be growing like gang busters. Where is the positive spin in this? Instead our net growth has only been 20005 in those years. What happened to the other 27115 publishers?

  Yes SOJ I'm sure someone can put a positive or negative spin on anything. But being positive in the face of such negative growth is like an ostrich (no offense candi) sticking its head in the sand.

  On the dates you post, where the brothers not interpreting scriptures, erronously I agree, but they were not providing a "new" prophesy.

  Yes, so all you prove that they cannot correctly interpret the scriptures. The record is pretty sad for Gods sole channel of communication. The really sad thing is that they are still doing it. 1914 is based on the baseless 607 destruction of Jerusalem. So in light of clear proof that 607 is wrong, they contiue to teach it.

  They call themselves a prophet, so when they mislead ppl with a misinterpretation of text, it is a false prophecy. Dont matter if its a new or old prophecy. God word is inspired, so when you proclaim a false fulfillment of that word under the supposed direction of the Holy Spirit, you are guilty of speaking a false prophecy.

  So again, under your rules for a prophet, the Society can never be wrong.
