steak and kidney meat pudding....... beefsteak cubed with kidney, wrapped in a suet dough with gravy and placed in a pudiing and boiled in a cloth tied at the top for 2-3 hours depending on size (be sure to top up the boiling water) .when done, undo the cloth and slice the pudding.

add english mustard (not that french crap) salt, pepper, and a dash of worcester sauce.

serve with new potatoes and mushy peas.

I'm an ex-pat and reminisce of the UK food, I remember those days well. Great pub food, real home cooking, roast's with veg, steamed or suet pud's. Warm real ale. I remember them well.

I'm glad I don't live there any more.

Who determines the "144,000 heaven goers"

hey all!!

i am married into a jw family, and i was told that there were only 144,000 people going to heaven (jw people at that) and i know one of the supposed people.

who determines this?

A good analagy for JW's is CCTV vs. Satalite. They are only allowed to get information on the JW CCTV, while anyone who uses satalite tv to get information is shunned because they could be getting information from Satan. And therefore misled.

Regarding the 144,000 this comes from Revelation. John was writing metaphorically(sp.) about Gods chosen people. Most Christians see this number to represent completness. The number 12 in the bible ofter refers to a complete group - 12 apostles, 12 tribes, etc. So 144000 is complete writen in Pick Flashing Neon - 12 X 12 X 1000 - absolutley complete.

JW's believe that at baptism you recieve the Holy Spirit (God's Active Force) which identifies you as a member of this elite group. You *FEEL* it. This group closed its doors in the mid-30's after all the tickets to heaven had been sold. However, as this group of people would now be in their 80's and 90's there arn't many left. This is where you'll here about *New Light* on this sight. The JW's have said for nearly 100 years that the people who see the begining of 1914 won't die before the Armagedon. This group also make up part of the 144000( someone correct me if I'm wrong). Part of this 144000 act as prophets in Brooklyn, and decide what is written in their publications. However, these man are dieing off, and going senile because of their age. The *new light* teachings now say some of the 144000 sinned before they died and can now be replaced, and the generation that saw the begin can die out before Armagedon.

After a little more thought, I would say its not a Dub thing, maybe more of a christian thing. I could apply sinning in heaven, what would happen? And also, this Adam thing. Could he realy be blamed for sinning?

So the sin I would imagine you are talking about is a willful act against god's law?

I'm trying to collect my thoughts on this, so if you could bear with me here a little.

The original test was to obey Jehovah, one rule, don't eat from this tree. Adam and Eve failed. Then, people living nearly a thousand years, sinned, and there's flood because of the sin. (What sin though? no more tree). Then with mosses we get a rulebook. Then with Jesus this gets changed into two rules.

Then Armageddon and..

Jesus? 1000 year reign. Do we get new rules? The same Two Rules?? Or another tree? If we break them do we have a chance to repent, being of a perfect mind, we would only make the correct decisions to start with? If we are to live the rest of the reign do we become the new temptation?

-Here's something else, Adam had no free will as his entire experience base was given to him by Jehovah, so, any decision he made was based on Jehovah's cognitive implant. So, If the perfect Adam given his life and experience from Jehovah sinned, and, <>some<> perfect people in the future NEVER sin. Could we presume that the only way to attain perfect non-sinning humans is to let them be born into sin? If they are born into this world with Jehovah's implants, their always going to sin. 100% record so far. Jesus was perfect, but had sinning human parents as early guides.

Well,

Even though were perfect, we're not immortal. Adam was perfect and sinned. So, if we sin, what happens?

I also wonder what will consritute a sin. In eden it was fruit temptation. Is this the only way to test a perfect human??
