Thanks all again, I went to the hospital, she was more alert today, I told her I loved her and everytime she woke up I made sure I was the first thing she saw, I sat there and rubbed her face which she liked until she would feel asleep again.
Loveroftruth- its actually my mums mum and she has never had to endure the loss of her, my mum has always been there for my nan, infact she has been living there for the past year.

Thank you. I guess I feel like she overcame the infection, she has been on medication for the last twenty years, she suffers from TB, recently lost most of her eyesite as a result of medication, got diabetes a few months ago....none of which was her fault. But she has had enough, she is tired of living like this and just wants to go and we have to respect that

Hey all,
I recently posted a topic on loosing it with my father, so some of you would know my nan isnt doing well. They finally got rid of the infection on Monday we were all relieved. But my nan is still refusing to eat and drink. They offered to stick a tube down her for a week to feed her with the intent that it would pick her up a bit to eat on her own. She has refused.
So as of Monday they are taking away all her medication, as this will only prolong her life. She will slip into a natural coma, and eventually pass away. I did some research on the computer how long a body can cope without food and water. It says a healthy body can cope three days without water and three weeks without food, she is no where near healthy.
I totally understand why she is doing this, since my pop died three years ago she has gone down hill in her health, she misses him terribly. Even if she was to eat and bounce back she would be moved to a rehab hospital and then put in a home, which in itself would kill her.
But Im also angry, angry that she is giving up its almost like she is committing a slow suicide, harsh I know but thats what is kind of feels like. I want her to keep living, I want to be able to see her and talk to her, and show her her grandchildren, my daughters middle name is named after my nan. I want her to be able to see the new baby when it comes. She is the only family I really have, she has supported me a lot in the last few years as she isnt a JW.
Today will be the last day I get to see her conscious, and hopefully be able to talk to her and get a response.
Thanks for listening

Going under the knife tomorrow morning :S
by Elsewhere ini'm not a big fan of surgery.
i always exhaust all non-surgical options before doing it.
i know enough about medicine to know that surgery is effectively a controlled injury... and that makes me nervous.

I just completely lost it with my father!!!
by Es inmy mums mum is very sick, she has been in hospital the last month with really bad infection, they have tried every time of antibiotics to get rid of it.
this last week she has refused to eat and drink, she told my mum she was tired of all of this, and basically said her goodbyes the other night.. we went in on saturday to see her, my mum was there, and even tho it was a little strained we managed to talk for a few hours it was nice to see her.. i got a phone call off my dad's mum today saying that my nan was deteriorating, so i msg my mum to see if this was true, it wasnt, my nan likes to dramatise things, my mum promised me she would keep me updated.
i received a phone call about an hour ago from my nan (dads mum) saying that the infection has cleared up and that she is improving and eating and drinking.

Im not angry that they shun me, Im angry that they dont have human decency to call there daughter to let her know that her nan is actually doing ok. I spent the most of last year going to her house once a week, to cook, and clean and do her shopping, I loved being with her and helping her our. Im angry that there was no common courtesy

Don't think i should have sent the text i just did ....
by dobbie inthink i just did something really stupid.
i have had a bad couple of days.
i was in the playground yesterday and had my jw bil stood right in front of me ignoring me totally (i'm d'ad) but talking to my hubby, who said nothing to him (her my eifes here too or something would have been nice) so i felt like total dogs poo and we both ended up in tears over it all when i got home.
