Leolia,
You're pretty smart for an 8(?)-year-old.

the scripture in jeremiah below clearly says the 70 years would end when babylon was conquered.
yet the scripture in zechariah below (written circa 517/518) says that they were still in the seventy years period at that time.. is there a way to reconcile these two scrips?.

one of the things that bothers me is the very little or almost non-existent way the paradise earth is talked about in the new testament.
i've never heard a dub even think about that for one second.. the only occasions i can think of that the dubs use to show the new testament does in fact talk paradise earth is the scripture at matthew 5:5 (about mild tempered ones, or meek inheriting the earth), revelation 21:3,4 (about no more sickness, sorrow, suffering nor death) and jesus on the cross saying that the guy next to him would be with jesus in paradise.. none of these are overly convincing.
why didn't the apostles talk more about the paradise.
Def'd. Explain why those scriptures are supporting a paradise. I don't see it.
(Revelation 5:10 New World Translation) and you made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God, and they are to rule as kings over the earth."
Def'd this is a mistranslation of scripture by the Society to help fit their (and yours) twisted "two hopes" methodology. Look in your own Greek Interlinear to see the correct translation. No Greek Interlinear, Lexicon, or any manuscript or translation renders epi as "over" except the Society. Why would that be?
Are there two hopes Def'd? Are you sure?
(Ephesians 4:4-6 New World Translation) 4
One body there is, and one spirit, even as YOU were called in the one hope to which YOU were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all [persons], who is over all and through all and in all.

my two son's are body builders and i am wonering if they think they can take on the world .
last year my son was in a bar fight and got sucker punched in the eye which required 5 stiches ,now my 21 year old comes home with a huge black eye, the biggest i have ever seen trying to break up a fight.. .
now both these people that got a good shot at my kids where men much smaller in stature and size and seemed to land good punches.
Heh ... just last night my wife was getting out of the shower and I told her "Don't take this as a negative ... it's a compliment ... but I bet if you had time to work out you could have a washboard stomach."
She has curvy hips and a flat tummy .... after giving birth to two kids.
Making me feel all tingly "down there" just thinking about it.
Maybe I can cut out of work early and head home .... lol ... as long as she hasn't decided I'm apostate yet.

the watchtower grove in lehigh acres florida was recently sold off.
this land was purchased by the society from some well-off brothers for about $3000 a couple of decades back (1982 precisely).
it has since been bought by another jw - whom i have met personally.
That link doesn't work ... it just displayed my http headers .... what is up with that?

So you are saying that it is likely these different mentions of seventy years are not really related but instead were strung together by the Society to fit a prophecy?

*** Rbi8 Jeremiah 25:12-14 ***
12 "‘And it must occur that when seventy years have been fulfilled I shall call to account against the king of Babylon and against that nation,’ is the utterance of Jehovah, ‘their error, even against the land of the Chal·de´ans, and I will make it desolate wastes to time indefinite. 13 And I will bring in upon that land all my words that I have spoken against it, even all that is written in this book that Jeremiah has prophesied against all the nations. 14 For even they themselves, many nations and great kings, have exploited them as servants; and I will repay them according to their activity and according to the work of their hands.’"
*** Rbi8 Zechariah 1:12 ***
12
So the angel of Jehovah answered and said: "O Jehovah of armies, how long will you yourself not show mercy to Jerusalem and to the cities of Judah, whom you have denounced these seventy years?"

i have listed all the books i found at the library that mention 586/87 as the fall of jerusalem.
i was also able to link to all of them (except the first one listed) on amazon.com!
many are out of print or unavailable as new books but you can buy almost all of them used on amazon.com ... some are only $10-12 each!
ithinkiseeIt is impossible for 607 to be a bogus date for you may as well say that 589, 588,587 and 586 are also bogus dates for the Fall of Jerusalem. The calender date 607 is a date calculated from secular, historical and biblical evidence as shown in the WT publications. The date of 607 is far more attested than the other dates for it begins the prophecy of the Gentile Times fulfilled in that momentous year of 1914.
The other useless dates of 587 and 586 have no significance for Christians today as such dates lack prophetic significance, these dates are 'dead-end dates, are of interest to apostates, unbelieving secular scholars and those who are jealous of the spiritual paradise enjoyed by the Witnesses.

Okay ... now I KNOW you can't really be a JW. You;re just messing with us. Funny stuff man. -ithinkisee
okay, here we go ... the "meat" (i.e.
spam) of the daniel book is being foisted upon us at the book study.. this is "rock-solid" evidence though ... so apostates ... do your worst!

*** it-2 p. 480 Nebuchadnezzar ***
Nebuchadnezzar ruled as king for 43 years (624-582 B.C.E.)
*** dp chap. 4 p. 46 The Rise and Fall of an Immense Image ***
The dreamer was Nebuchadnezzar, the king of the Babylonian Empire. He had effectively become world ruler in 607 B.C.E. when Jehovah God allowed him to destroy Jerusalem and its temple. In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar’s reign as world ruler (606/605 B.C.E.), God sent him a terrifying dream.

isn't that an oxymoron?
As disturbing as that post was...I found it strangely amusing that this is really what we use to believe when we went out in field service and harvested other people's houses with our eyes.
Hopefully you didn't think I was serious ... it was meant to be disturbing though. Sad really.
