I can remember in the early 80's when Brooklyn was updating to computers. A letter was read from the platform asking all those with computer skills to volunteer to go to Bethel and help set up the system. I'm standing in the back of the hall after the meeting and this life long brother I have know for a long time comes up to me and says, "I guess they need people with educations now huh".

weird dream
by Es inhey all how are we?
i had the weirdest dream last night, i went back to the meeting for the first time in like 3 years and lo and behold they gave me a talk to do.
so a few hours before i was due to give the talk i was researching it and i could not for the life of me understand one little bit.

ES, this is known as "Anxiety Dreams". Most of our dreams are a reflection of thoughts we have had that day. I often wonder why I dreamed such and such and began to think back the previous day and would remember thinking of the same subject. Often when one is distressed about a certain event or occurance it can be traced back to an incident that we remember and has come up in our thoughts that day.

After 23 years of shunning my cousin for adultery committed in the early 80's. We meet in 2004 at a mutual family funeral. Although we were over 2000 miles apart for most of that time. I ran into her and her husband and immediately my defences went up. "I MUST NOT TALK TO THESE ONES". Then suddenly something happened that has never happened before my life in JWdom. I looked at them not as ones DF'ed rather as people. My father lingered on another 10 days before dying and in that time I began to reacesses myself. I could no longer hate my cousin. and on the night after the funeral I walked up to her and kissed her and asked for forgiveness for the hurt I had caused her for the past 23 years. To my suprise she forgave me and approximately 14 months later I DA'ed my self and have never looked back.

Whats the spookiest thing that has happened to you?
by diamondblue1974 ini have had a few experiences which some could be dealt with rationally although even to this day the coincidences seem too convenient; .
mine was on new years day in 1994; i didnt celebrate new years at the same although i was about to start my fade that year; i was ill on new years eve anyway and i had been sleeping when i awoke at precisely 12.13. i couldnt get back to sleep but there was no obvious reason why.. my grandmother was in hospital but she was getting better when i had last spoken to her; i managed to back off to sleep but woke that following morning for some reason really concerned about my gran; just as i was coming downstairs the phone rang and my girlfriend answered it.
i said to her before she got to the phone that it would be my mother with bad news about my gran; i was right on both counts; it was my mum and my gran had died.....at 12.13 precisely..

In the early 60's my family would load up the stationwagon and head from california to alabama and georgia to visit relatives. We would often stop at some small town and have a picnic in the local park. One day in some small southern town we were having lunch and I had to go to the bathroom. I wasn't more than 5 or 6 at the time. There was a small bathroom in the center of the park. Heading over there I saw a police man and a paddy wagon. The officer was standing with his back to the door. Being so small I just walked in behind him. He didn't even see me. I soon found out why he was there. Standing at the urinal was a prisoner. The hardest looking man I have ever seen. He had black and white stripe prison uniform on and had a ball and chain attached to his leg. I stood there in total shock and froze. He looked at me and said, "It's ok, come on in." I bolted out of there as fast as I could, the police officer still didn't see me. It was some 30 years before I ever told my mother about this.

by upside/down ini've lived in my new house for a year and a half... in a nice newer neighborhood, in town.. the dubs have never been to my house and i've never seen them in the neighborhood.
i'm home almost all day every day!.
i've had the mormons here 3 times.

I was a JW for 28 years and I can not remeber a single incident where any JW's every discussed so much as a Watchtower, Awake or for that matter any publication among themselves. I always thought it astounding how much printed material was distributed and yet the rank and file had not so much a clue as to what was in it.

Funny thing actually. As soon as I posted this, the auto advertisement software popped up on this thread to this site. OK you late nite fokes. Obviously GG and a few others. Your wierdiest elimination of vermin. I was up one nite about 3 am a few years back and up pops this ad on TV about a mouse trap. Not an ordinary mouse trap mind you. A clear plexy glass maze the mouse would entrap itself into. Now you would think it would feast on some sort of poison, hastening it's demise. But NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!. The little critter would be wait paitently for your return when you would apply a liberal spray of LETHAL poison watching as it slowy expired.

They started the phone witnesing in our congo about 4 years ago. They usually started with not at homes and went to territories they could not witness to. Old folks homes and security condos etc.

Where is FLAT STANLEY???
by Princess inflat stanley seems to be lost.
rhys hasn't recieved a postcard from him in weeks now...last one was from joy in florida.
i know we had a poster in alaska who sent a card, but so far, it hasn't arrived.. last i heard, he was en route to california.

I can't believe this. My 8 year nephew sent me his 3 grade Flat Stanley last month. I drive a big truck and took him on a ride with me for a week. I had no idea Flat Stanley was this popular. PS the teacher send me a letter explaining to me that Flat Stanley was flat because a bulletin board fell on him.
